We can’t help but think The Sun wanted news about Simon Cowell, wanted news about Robert Pattinson, and, when nothing materialized, decided to throw the two together.
Today came a story (picked up everywhere) claiming Cowell has approached Pattinson “to sign a major record deal,” and that Pattinson “can basically write his own cheque.” What’s more, The Sun insists, Cowell’s offer has triggered a bidding war among record labels for Pattinson’s musical talents.
“Twilight fans are such an excitable bunch I’m wary of even letting this out the bag for fear of the hysteria it will unleash,” the item’s author begins, immediately before stirring the pot with no word from Pattinson’s side or Cowell’s. In fact, the only “source” who does speak supplies the story with an easy exit, saying, “Robert is reluctant to be turned into a pop star… He is a bit wary of signing up with Cowell who is, of course, associated with X Factor and pop.”
Gossip Cop is “a bit wary” of the entire premise. While it’s true that Pattinson enjoys playing music – and that Cowell’s partner Simon Fuller is involved in Pattinson’s upcoming Bel Ami project – the actor’s focused on a skyrocketing film career. No one whom Gossip Cop asked about the Cowell rumors said anything to the contrary. So while it’s certainly possible Pattinson could one day put out a record, claims that talks with the X Factor impresario are happening and a deal imminent are off base.
Dear Ted:
What comes first for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson—their careers or their romance? Is it a “one or the other” type decision or do they want to try to make both their film futures and their relationship work? I’m only questioning this because it appears K.S. is taking a back burner to R.P.’s career right now as she has no new films in the works and is said to be traveling to see him on his sets, not vice versa. Are they so serious that, at such a young age, they have already made a pact to be with the other when not filming?

Dear Practical:
I want to say careers but feel as though I’ll get lashed to smithereens. Fine, lash away: I think Rob and Kristen are very smart. Why do you think their relaysh is kept under wraps? They know how to balance both, and keeping their private lives private will make them happy and their handlers happy (therefore careers).
I decided to do this a bit differently this week. First we will start off with a video from Samantha
Then in anticipation of Remember Me – I am posting several wallpapers from dreamysim1, twiifever and myself.
Thanks again to all who submitted. I have also linked everyone to their blogs or YT sites so be sure to check them out and leave them some love.
Please send us your videos, posters, wallpaper, twitter backgrounds, live journal headers and manipulations and we will feature 3 in the blog per week. Submissions need to be in by Fridays and the featured items will be posted on Saturday. Please send your submissions to kat@spunk-ransom.com
I know a lot of people are going to look at the poll right now, see Rob is over 20,000 votes ahead of his nearest competition and think he’s safe, but he’s not.
Since the vote was extended by Hello (it should have finished on the 20th but now finishes on the 25th) Hugh Laurie has gone from 47000 votes to 78000 in three days. Yesterday his fans added over 17,000 votes while Rob fans are adding a steady 5,000 each day. Occasional visitors to the poll probably haven’t even noticed the danger yet, but we don’t want Rob to lose out to Hugh Laurie. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a nice guy, but most attractive??
If you can put out a call to vote on your site and/or on Twitter/Facebook/My Space etc, we might stand a chance of holding him off. Anything you can do would be great.
It’s been just a little over a week since a massive earthquake devastated the Caribbean Island of Haiti, leveling buildings and capturing countless citizens underneath the rubble.
While aid efforts for Haiti began shortly after the earthquake, tonight, some of Hollywood’s biggest stars got together to bring further awareness to the cause. Amonst them was “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson, who stressed the importance of technology during this crisis.
Robert, who appeared on camera from London, shared the story of a girl in Haiti who had been buried under a flattened university for nearly six days, praying that someone would find her. Finally, on the sixth day, rescuers discovered her because of a text message sent from underneath the rubble.
Amazing.
The story was just one example of how technology, including Twitter, Facebook and texting, has shaped the response to the earthquake in Haiti.
Here is his speech in full:
“Underneath a flattened university, Maxine Fallon waited. She was crouched in a fetal position and could barely move. In the darkness and during the hectic sounds of the day, through the pain, the hunger and thrist, she prayed that someone would find her. And on the sixth day her prayers were answered, she was found because of a text message from the rubble sent rescuers to her side. Unlike any other event in history, our world has been connected to this tragedy because of technology. Twitter updates, Facebook pages with pictures of the missing and text messages for help. This technology is working right now to connect us, too. At hopeforhaitinow.org, you can donate and you can instantly interact with people in Haiti and anywhere in the globe. Join with those watching and see what they’re saying about something we all care deeply about — helping the Haitian people get back on their feet. Please go to hopeforhaitinow.org. Thank you.”
Robert of course, was just one of the “Twilight” stars to participate in the benefit to help Haiti. Across the pond in L.A, his “New Moon” costars Taylor Lautner and Anna Kendrick answered calls from people interested in making a donation.
Intensely passionate, painfully romantic, and endearingly beautiful are only a few words that come to mind when reading Isle Esme (chapter 5) in Stephenie Meyer’s last Twilight installment, Breaking Dawn. Meyer spent over 1,765 pages building up to this monumental chapter, in which Bella and Edward travel to Isle Esme to celebrate their honeymoon, and finally consummate their love as newlyweds.
Breaking Dawn the film is not final; however, it seems to be inevitable at this point, prompting the actors to talk about the sensitive nature of the subject matter. The cross generational books have brought together generations and given them a common bond, but will that all change when Breaking Dawn hits theaters in the future?
Bella remarks on page 83 of Breaking Dawn , “How did people do this — swallow all their fears and trust someone else so implicitly with every imperfection and fear they had — with less than the absolute commitment that Edward had given me? If it weren’t Edward out there, if I didn’t know in every cell of my body that he loved me as much as I loved him — unconditionally and irrevocably and, to be honest, irrationally — I’d never be able to get up off this floor.”
Meyer does a beautiful job with the intensely sensitive and special moments that Edward and Bella share while on their Honeymoon; it was tasteful and extremely classy. However, when the film comes to the big screen will the producers keep the innocence that Meyer so carefully weaved throughout this chapter?
Will parents be upset if Hollywood tries to sex up Breaking Dawn in order to drawn in a larger audience? One parent, and actor in the franchise, spoke with Hollywoodlife.com at a pre Golden Globe party who put out his official plea to make sure that Breaking Dawn stays PG-13. Peter Facinelli, the concerned parent said, “I have a 12-year-old daughter [Luca Bella, whose mom is Jennie Garth]. She’s a fan and I’d want her not to feel left out or awkward.”
The actor went on to say, “Hopefully it’s a PG-13 type of situation. I’m sure the producers and directors know what they want—and especially what they are doing — but I’m sure they don’t want to alienate fans.”
Since we know that Meyer will not allow any of the films to be rated R, we know it will not happen, however it is an interesting topic. Will the producers of this film try to push the sex envelope to make this film sexier and to create an even bigger hype around the main stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart? As fans of the franchise, do you think they can portray the intense passion that Bella and Edward share on Isle Esme without having to get overly sexual?
