No one in Hollywood is hotter right now than Twilight actors Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Producers are clamoring to put them in movies, and the two actors — Pattinson, 23 and Lautner, 18 — can pretty much make any kind of film they choose. So it’s interesting that their post-Twilight movie careers are shaping up to be so drastically different.
Lautner, 18, has just signed on for an action thriller called Abduction, about a man who discovers his own baby picture on a missing persons website. Lautner will also be playing a super-powered secret agent fighting terrorists in the film Max Steel, a martial arts fighter who has to save his kidnapped friends on vacation in Cancun, and the titular body-stretching superhero in Stretch Armstrong. Notice a pattern here? Lautner is definitely gunning to be the next big action hero, following a path similar to the one Will Smith took in the mid-90s.
Pattinson, on the other hand, is steering away from adrenaline-fueled hero roles and choosing small, intense character pieces. Next up is March’s Remember Me, in which the 23-year-old actor plays a tortured college student who finds romance after a family tragedy. Then, post-Eclipse, he’ll be making three period pieces: Bel Ami, about a lothario who sleeps his way to the top in 19th-century Paris (co-starring Uma Thurman); Unbound Captives, about a frontiersman whose children are kidnapped (also starring Hugh Jackman); and Circus, about a Depression-era circus (with Reese Witherspoon as the love interest). These choices are reminiscent of the films made by Johnny Depp earlier in his career.
So while Lautner’s new films will show off his abs, Pattinson’s movies will flex his acting muscles. Both are good strategies for staying in the spotlight — and while Lautner may emerge the richer man, we see Oscar buzz in Pattinson’s future.
The fact that Robert Pattinson plays the lead in Allen Coulter’s ‘Remember Me’ shouldn’t imply that this romantic-drama is anything like the obsessed-about ‘Twilight’ franchise. On the contrary, with racier scenes (watch an exclusive clip of Pattinson’s shower scene with co-star Emilie de Ravin) and darker, adult themes, ‘Remember’ is a welcome distraction from vampire and werewolf love spats.
In the film, Pattinson is Tyler, a troubled young man whose rebellious response to a family suicide aggravates an already strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan). He begins to change his outlook, however, when he meets and falls in love with Ally (Emilie de Ravin) — whose father (Chris Cooper) is, unbeknownst to her, somehow linked to Tyler. And as their affair intensifies, so does the weight of untold secrets until, eventually, it threatens to tear them apart.
On Saturday, Feb. 27, we will be interviewing the entire cast of ‘Remember Me,’ including Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper and, of course, Robert Pattinson. So if you’re wondering what it was like for Emilie to film with the media frenzy surrounding Robert, or if Brosnan ever experienced the same reaction from his lady fans, now’s your chance to ask them for yourself! Really, you can ask anything you want, just make sure to submit your question before Friday, Feb. 26 in the comments below and to include your name and location. Come back on Monday, March 8 to watch the video interviews and to see if your question made the cut!
Gossip Cop has spent hours reaching out to everyone to verify the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart shocker heard ’round the world.
Initially, we were told the interview was “a fake.”
We then contacted many, many more individuals, including the author of the explosive interview published in The Sun, “R-Patz admits: I AM with K-Stew.”
Unlike numerous other sites which took the interview at face value and never fact checked, including Hollyscoop (“Robert Pattinson Confirms He’s Dating Kristen Stewart) and HollywoodLife (“Finally, Kristen! Your boyfriend R-Patz ADMITS you are a couple!”), Gossip Cop verified with the reporter — more than once over the course of a few hours — what was and wasn’t said on Sunday.
The reporter told Gossip Cop Pattinson “didn’t say ‘we are a couple,’” adding that “he wasn’t going to spell it out in great detail.”
What the reporter did ask during the post-BAFTAs dinner, where Pattinson was several feet away from Stewart for this Q&A, was, “Is this a public appearance together?”
The reporter told Gossip Cop Pattinson replied, “We are together.”
When Gossip Cop pressed him on whether Pattinson’s response meant he and Stewart were a couple, the reporter said, “That’s my assumption from what he said.”
OK, so Pattinson never actually said they were “a couple.”
The Sun claims Pattinson “admitted” he and Stewart were a couple. But that is not the case.
This isn’t to say Pattinson and Stewart are or are not a couple.
But the claim that there was any kind of monumental admission or “fessing up” at the dinner on Sunday simply is not true.
As Gossip Cop has maintained from the beginning, it’s up to the actors to reveal when and what they want to reveal.
There a couple of confirmed facts surrounding Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s BAFTA appearances in London over the weekend:
1. They arrived separately, walked the carpet separately and were seated separately.
2. Photos, tweets and the Awful Truth confirm they left the afterparty together.
But The Sun would like to submit more evidence. Now, we know the British tabloid is notoriously sketchy, but somehow the rag got Lindsay Lohan to give them a real-life two-part tell-all, so we thought it couldn’t hurt to look into what they have to offer.
So these are the quotes they say Rob actually uttered about Kristen:
“It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes.”
And more than that, the tab claims Rob explains why everything is all shhh supersecret:
“We can’t arrive at the same time because of the fans. It goes crazy. This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple but it’s impossible. We are here together and it’s a public event but it’s not easy. We have to do all this stuff to avoid attention.”
Now that’s a pretty straightforward, nonrambling, unfunny quote to come from the same actor who said he’s allergic to vaginas, don’t you think?
We have reached out to Rob’s reps to get to the bottom of this. In the meantime, let the conspiracy theories fly.
Last night, the British Academy of Film celebrated the best of the best in terms of films, performances and directors for the year that ended. Two of the many stars that walked the red carpet before the main event, braving the wet and cold weather outside, were “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart – and suffice it to say both did it in great style.
For starters, we might as well note that, though they both attended the same ceremony, the two stars, who have often been linked romantically by the tabloid media, did not arrive together. Neither did they pose side by side for pictures. However, both looked very fab, with Pattinson rocking his usual messy ‘do and an impeccable suit, while Stewart was a slender stunner in a short, white dress.
As fans must know, one of the many things Pattinson is famous for is his unruly hair, which he once said he rarely bothered to wash because it looked better when it was a bit dirty. He did not forget about his trademark messy ‘do for the BAFTAs – and, oddly enough, it actually complimented the made-to-measure Gucci suit, a “black peak lapel two button tuxedo with white dress shirt, black silk tie and black leather lace up shoes,” as JustJared puts it. The actor matched this with that amazing smile that can – and does – send women all over the world swooning, especially when seen from up close, or at least closer than through a photo.
His “Twilight Saga” co-star, Kristen Stewart, was equally gorgeous, especially knowing that she rather resented getting all dolled up for the red carpet. Coming to prove that wearing jeans and sneakers almost at all times was more of a personal choice than, say, the inability to look good in a skirt, Kristen dazzled in a white, body-hugging, strapless Chanel dress, matched with white pumps. She kept makeup down to a minimum, while choosing to wear her hair swept back in a very modern way, suited for her age.
Though Pattinson was not nominated for any award, his presence at the ceremony was also explained by the fact that he presented one. Kristen, on the other hand was nominated for and won the Orange Rising Star Award, beating out other stars like Nicholas Hoult, Tahar Rahim, Carey Mulligan and Jesse Eisenberg.
The pale and interesting look preferred by stars of the Twilight vampire series is starting a life-saving trend. Fans have started copying Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s white faces.
Experts say that the sexy stars are giving youngsters the confidence to steer clear of the sun beds and to slap on the factor 40.
Eric Jimenz, from Urban Decay Cosmetics, told the Daily Star: “Due to films such as Twilight, people see that pale skin can still be sophisticated, timeless and glamorous.”

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” is directed by David Slade from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will reprise their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black.
In “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, Bella is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.
The pairing of Robert Pattinson and Pierce Brosnan as father and son in “Remember Me” has had fans atwitter since the cast was announced, but it’s the film’s surprise ending that will keep the buzz alive.
Pattinson is sharp in this beautifully shot film, and one-time James Bond Brosnan is in top form. Their thick onscreen New York accents might slip a bit in the heat of their constant arguing, given Pattinson’s a Brit and Brosnan an Irishman. But Pattinson makes coming out on the wrong end of cop fights and cramped student living in New York look appealing, while the polished Brosnan looks perfectly at home in his big business surroundings.
But the big talking point when this movie hits screens next month will be the surprise twist of an ending. For the sake of maintaining the surprise, we’ll keep the details short on this massive twist. Suffice it to say it makes “The Book of Eli’s” blind-reveal look pretty tame in comparison. It’s a whopper.
