Sorry if some of these are repeats–they looked new to us!
Thanks to the pattinsonlife LiveJournal community and thevampireclub for the tips on the new pictures!
Nobody complained about the now-famous gray pea coat Edward sported in “Twilight”, nor did they grumble over his fitted casual long-sleeved jerseys, light blue button-downs, or black wayfarers. “New Moon” was a different story—the birthday party and forest scenes found him in something that looked like tweed—reminding us all that Edward’s tastes may be less aligned with those of a 17-year-old teenager than with those of a vampire whose age is 109.
Part of the fan reaction to Edward’s wardrobe in “New Moon” (aside from the fact that it didn’t flatter Robert Pattinson’s physique, as the wardrobe largely had in “Twilight) was sentiment that Stephenie Meyer had not written his character to dress so “old”. Even Carlisle, who can be considered older than Edward in every sense of the word, looks more contemporary than Edward in every scene of “New Moon”.
Yet, a recent set of new photos have sparked new hope for fans of Robert Pattinson and fans of the Twilight Saga. The photos show Edward in a fitted denim jacket, a light gray v-neck t-shirt, and contemporary jeans. And it’s not just the official photos—promotional videos including both trailers seem to confirm the conclusion that the Edward in “Eclipse” will look a little bit more like a teen.
But, be warned not to expect too much. The trailers still show a few places where the wardrobe slips. In particular, a certain plaid shirt + gray textured jacket combo misses the mark. (At least it’s better than tweed.)

Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has written some great love stories during her impressive career, but her Twilight scripts brought us Robsten, the biggest offscreen and onscreen couple there is!
And although it was Stephenie Meyer who originally penned the Twilight vamp books, Rosenberg’s scripts—arguably lacking as they may be—have made the movie series what it is, for better or for worse.
Rosenberg recently answered some questions about her work, and she confirmed and elaborated about the utter deliciousness that is our favorite couple:
Rosenberg recently participated in a Q&A at the University of Southern California, and one of our Twi-hard spies got some deets straight from the writer herself.
When Rosenberg was asked what it was like to be responsible for the filmic love-story phenomenon of the time, she told the audience that Rob and Kristen’s hot stuff is pretty special.
In fact, she said their chemistry is like “lighting in a bottle”—such poetic words that only a writer would use to describe sexy Robsten love! Or are we overreacting with our Robsten adoration here?
Clearly not.
When Rosenberg (who really could be a Geena Davis doppelganger) answered the query, she practically trembled with oozing excitement when she discussed Rob and Kristen. Even though she was doing her writerly best to remain cool.
And although Rosenberg admitted she doesn’t “pay attention” to the offscreen happenings of the cast, she stated that she “really lucked out” having the chance to pen amorous happenings for the gorgeous young real-life couple.
Indeed, Rosenberg added that she “couldn’t have asked for anything better” than to have that very opportunity.
Uh, great and all, but we still say we’d like to see what Diablo Cody could have done with the hotness that is Robsten.

HollywoodNews.com: In 2009 “hot lists” naming the most successful stars in Hollywood, Kristen Stewart often bested Robert Pattinson in star appeal and pay. With new numbers coming out about the box office success of “Remember Me” and a look at upcoming film projects by each actor, it may be the case that, when it comes to star power, Rob is gaining a lead.
As the star of the Twilight films (Bella is, after all, the main character), Kristen has earned slightly more for her role than did Rob for his portrayal of Edward. She also boasts a much longer career, which found her in her earliest recorded film role at the age of 10. By the time she was cast for “Twilight”, she had already played supporting roles alongside mega-stars including Dennis Quaid, Jodie Foster, and Glenn Close. Yet, Twilight Saga films aside, her most recent and rumored projects are for films with niche followings—films that aren’t making back their budgets at the box office.
Robert Pattinson’s strategy has been different. Despite his later start as a screen actor (which dates back approximately to 2004), Pattinson has leaned toward larger roles for each film in which he plays and working with bigger-name stars (Bel Ami alone finds him in the star role, working alongside Kristen Scott Thomas, Uma Thurman, and Christina Ricci). It also doesn’t hurt that the majority of his film projects have come forth since he earned stardom through “Twilight” fame. After his explosive popularity as Edward, he has enormous leverage to choose his roles, and can command a higher salary.
It will be interesting to see how each actor manages his career—after a big hit like “Twilight”, typical Hollywood wisdom would advise both Rob and Kristen to climb aboard the gravy train, taking the biggest roles they can for as long as they remain in favor. Right now, it seems like Rob is doing just that, whereas Kristen may be choosing some indies. Where each of them will be in 5 years has yet to be seen.
In the meantime, I’ll be keeping an eye out on IMDB. For the moment, Kristen remains in the lead with a Star Ranking of 8. Rob is hot on her heels with a Star Ranking of 9.
