Dear Ted:
What’s the deal with almost the entire cast of Twilight being chain smokers? The thought of smoker’s breath, yellow fingers and hacking coughs is ruining my fantasies! (Not to mention making it “cool” for a whole new generation who view the paparazzi photos).
—Can’t Seem to Butt Out

Dear Up in Smoke:
Babe, don’t you think it would be a little bit stressful to step into shoes belonging to R.Pattz, KStew or any of those other vamp/vamp-lovers? But you’re right; it’s gross and I’m currently seriously contemplating quitting again myself. Wish me luck.

Dear Ted:
I saw some of the most disturbing pap pics of Robert Pattinson today. One guy was smiling while jamming a camera an inch from his face. My heart ached for Rob. How can the paps get away with this? A pure violation and a threat to his personal space. Isn’t that harassment out in L.A.?! Lady Di died being chased by paps. Haven’t we learned anything after all these years? I hope he leaves the country after he’s done filming.
—PG

Dear Hell-Ay:
Hollywood plays by a whole different set of rules, doll. And while celebs get oodles of special privileges, sure, they also sadly lose the ability to have even a smidgen of a private life. Which especially sucks for those stars who actually want a private life and aren’t calling the paps to meet up with them on Melrose.

Dear Ted:
In a recent Bitch-Back, you said that Robsten would break up before Zanessa. Could you give us, in your opinion, why you think that is more likely and maybe who or what would break them up? By the way, I haven’t adopted an animal, but I did take in a pregnant stray that gave me four fuzzy kittens, and I also feed all the neighborhood stray cats and dogs. That’s like having 20 kids to feed!
—Jessey

Dear Purr-fect:
Kisses to all your kitties, Jess. As for Zanessa, call me crazy, but I could actually see them tying the knot. Can’t you?

Starts at 10:09…

Like every great chat show host, Diablo Cody has revealed the Ed Sullivan to her Johnny Carson, the Paul Shaffer to her David Letterman — and it’s none other than Robert Pattinson.

Kinda.

For the second installment of her mobile chat show, “Red Band Trailer,” the screenwriter features comedian Chelsea Handler. After downloading with the E! star about booze and boys, Cody retires to her trailer couch and reviews her day with a body pillow featuring Pattinson’s brooding face.

“Well, Robert Pattinson, I think we both learned a thing or two today,” Cody waxes. …
“One, that Chelsea is a wonderful and hospitable human being, and I’m not that bad myself.”

We wonder if body-pillow Rob has to fight as hard to resist Cody’s intoxicating scent? The Ministry also appreciates Cody’s new mantra, used to button up her wholesome webisode:

“Until next time, take care of yourself. And it’s not your fault.”

We believe her.

Included on the list alongside Kristen Stewart, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Adam Sandler, perhaps being ‘unwashed’ is what makes an actor successful. Then again, maybe not… Ron Jeremy, Amy Winehouse and Spencer Pratt are also on the list. I tried. lol.

Celebrities are a revered group of people whom we regard as living Gods. But, in the immortal words of our most revered celebrity, Martin Lawrence, “some of you don’t wash your ass.” Here are the 30 Most Unwashed Celebs.

6. Robert Pattinson

What would Edward Cullen say?

Typically wildly coiffed, Robert Pattinson was spotted on the set of his upcoming film “Water For Elephants” on Monday donning much a shorter and cleaner hair cut to portray the character of Jacob Jankowski alongside leading lady Reese Witherspoon.

The 24-year-old actor looked positively preppy in downtown Los Angeles to work on some re-shoots for the movie, dressed in a crisp white shirt and tweed slacks to match his freshly shorn hair.

We wonder if Pattinson, who is notorious for nervously running his hands through his formerly lengthier locks, had a tough time keeping his digits out of this perfectly styled ‘do. The affable Brit has the potential to be a key hair stylist’s worst nightmare, albeit a handsome one.

Fans who simply cannot live in a world without their heartthrob’s signature thicker, messier style should fear not — Pattinson will be returning to all of his Edward Cullen glory when he reconvenes with his “Twilight” cohorts on the final installment of the vampire series, Breaking Dawn, which will be shot as not one, but two, movies.

How do you prefer your RPattz – sexy vampire or clean cut and business-like?

Team Edward fans from around the country want to know if, when and where actor Robert Pattinson will be in Chattanooga filming scenes for “Water for Elephants.”

It was confirmed last week by Missy Crutchfield, director of city’s Education, Arts & Culture, that scenes are being shot in the area this weekend and that crews have been here for a month building sets and scouting locations.

Neither she nor 20th Century Fox, which is producing the film that also stars Reese Witherspoon, will say if the stars will be here.

“I don’t know,” Ms. Crutchfield said.

That has not stopped fans from communicating online on sites such as onlocationvacations.com trying to guess where the shooting will take place or from planning to come here in search of the “Twilight” star.

Officials are being tight-lipped about production details, but fans on the site have identified a house in Kensington, Ga., and the Chattanooga Choo Choo as possible locations and they are talking about driving in from Nashville, Tampa, Alabama and elsewhere to try for a glimpse of Pattinsion.

Annie Still, director of sales at the Choo Choo, said that the hotel complex does have crew staying there.

“So do other hotels,” she said. “We actually have a small portion of the number. I do know there will not be anything shot here and I do not believe we have the stars here.”

A news release from 20th Century Fox released through the Tennessee Film, Entertainment, & Music Commission on Tuesday offered no clues to the shooting locations. It said only that principal photography was under way and offered some basic facts about the film.

You do remember what happened to Princess Diana when she was stalked by paparazzi, right? According to the dictionary, stalking is a term commonly used to refer to unwanted, obsessive attention by individuals (and sometimes groups of people) to others. Stalking behaviors are related to harassment and intimidation. The word “stalking” is used, with some differing meanings, in psychology and psychiatry and also in some legal jurisdictions as a term for a criminal offense. It may also be used to refer to criminal offences or civil wrongs that include conduct which some people consider to be stalking, such as those described in law as “harassment” or similar terms. Stalking refers to harassing or threatening behavior that is engaged in repeatedly. Such harassment can be either physical stalking or cyber-stalking. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that when paparazzi chase celebrities in their cars, this is repeated harassment and threatening behavior. So, why aren’t our laws protecting our celebrities from these stalkers?

The difficulties associated with precisely defining this term (or defining it at all) are well documented. It seems to have been first applied to the harassment (in a general sense) of celebrities by strangers who were described as being obsessed. This use of the word appears to have been coined by the tabloid press in the United States.

Stalking can be defined as the willful and repeated following, watching, and/or harassing of another person. Most of the time, the purpose of stalking is to attempt to force a relationship with someone who is unwilling or otherwise unavailable. Unlike other crimes, which usually involve one act, stalking is a series of actions that occur over a period of time. Although stalking is illegal, the actions that contribute to stalking are usually legal, such as gathering information, calling someone on the phone, sending gifts, emailing or instant messaging – and apparently, paparazzi who follow celebrities are not breaking any laws. Or, are they? Such actions by themselves are not usually abusive, but can become abusive when frequently repeated over time and this is what happens when the paps stalk celebrities.

California pioneered America’s first anti-stalking law in 1990 in response to the stalking and murder of actress Rebecca Schaeffer. Now, it lags behind a growing number of states that have included “surveillance” in their stalking laws to reflect societal changes in the 21st Century. Such states include: New York; Illinois; Colorado; Hawaii; Georgia; Idaho; New Mexico; South Carolina; and, Wyoming. The District of Columbia has also joined this distinguished list. It is time for California to do the same.

This past weekend, Robert Pattinson was stalked by paparazzi when he spent the day apparently going to see a movie and to the beach. Five cars followed him throughout the day – to the point of harassment. According to reports online, Rob got out of his car and begged them to stop following him. He talked to them man-to-man and was very mature about trying to get them to stop following him, but did they? Of course not. He even approached the police and asked for help, and seemingly, got none.

Of course, this isn’t the first time paparazzi have stalked celebrities. When Katie Holmes stepped out in Manhattan on August 6, 2008 with her daughter Suri, a picture was taken. That picture showed a frightened and frustrated little girl with both of her small hands over her ears. With flashbulbs going off and the click, click, click of shutters all around, nobody can blame her. Many celebrities have spoken out about how the paparazzi are invading their privacy on pretty much a daily basis.

And has everyone forgotten that in August of 1997, Lady Diana was killed in a car accident in Paris while being chased by the paparazzi? And, in a 2005 interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Scarlett Johansson verbalized her frustration: “I don’t know what the difference is between stalking and following you with a giant camera and following you home and to a supermarket. Certainly, if I were to stalk somebody, that’s what I’d do.”

There are laws in place to protect people from stalkers, but according to Johansson, they’re just not strict enough. “I think they have these crazy laws where if you wait outside someone’s house for two days, it’s not stalking, but if you wait outside for three days, it is, so they switch shifts. All these crazy things.”  If you ask me, this is stupid and ridiculous.

According to the National Center for Victims of Crime website, in the state of California (where many celebrities reside) the first point pursuant to the stalking law defines a stalker as “any person who willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly follows or willfully and maliciously harasses another person…” Isn’t that what the paparazzi did this weekend to Rob Pattinson? Why didn’t the police help him?

Willfully? Definitely. Maliciously? Most paparazzi aren’t following celebrities with the intent to harm them. They’re simply trying to make a living. But it says a lot about our culture when people think it’s okay to make money at the expense of others’ safety and privacy.

In an airport in 1996, Icelandic singer Bjork attacked a photographer. Bubble-gum singer Lily Allen was arrested last year in SoHo after punching a photographer outside a club. In 2007, former Agent 007 Pierce Brosnan punched a paparazzo in the ribs after he and his son were trailed all the way to a Mexican Restaurant. While filming in China in 1986, Sean Penn found a paparazzo waiting in his hotel room. Sean fought back by hanging the paparazzo off the balcony by his ankles. And Actor Hugh Grant was arrested in 2007 for throwing a can of baked beans at a photographer. The paparazzo was not only left bruised, but he was covered in baked beans. And who can blame the actors for this?

On August 1, 2008, singer John Mayer along with Eric Roberts (brother of Julia) and Milo Ventimiglia met Los Angeles government officials to tell them just how dangerous the paparazzi can be. Mayer reported that he was consistently chased home by the paparazzi who are in cars without license plates and who will run red lights to keep up. This is endangering people’s lives!

America needs fresh laws to control an aggressive new breed of news photographers who deliberately terrify celebrities to get more interesting pictures.

”They don’t want just the photo of the celebrity smiling or standing in front of the red carpet or whatever,” said prosecutor Rhonda Saunders of the photographers she calls stalkerazzi. “They want the celebrity angry. They want the celebrity scared.

Even while Rob Pattinson was recently filming Water for Elephants, the paparazzi surrounded the site and scared the animals, making it almost impossible for the director to get the shots he needed. Fans, who were considerately waiting until after the shoot for autographs, took matters into their own hands and surrounded the site, blocking out the paparazzi.

Stalkerazzi tactics range from jumping out of trees and bushes to sideswiping cars, Saunders said. In some cases, they may have gone even further:  Police arrested a man and said he used his van to ram the car of teenage actress Lindsay Lohan near a shopping mall in Los Angeles. Several photographers were on the scene snapping pictures and shooting video before Lohan could even get out of her car.

What is wrong with our world? The fans do not want the paparazzi to harass our celebrities.  We do not want anyone to get hurt or killed in an auto accident like Princess Diana.  We want celebrities to be able to have their privacy and freedom to enjoy the world. We fans need to be heard. We need legislation and laws that protect celebrities the way people are protected from stalkers.

As of 2010, all states have anti-stalking laws, but the legal definitions vary. Some state laws require that the perpetrator, to qualify as a stalker, make a credible threat of violence against the victim. Others require only that the stalker’s conduct constitute an implied threat. The National Institute of Justice’s Model Anti-Stalking Code doesn’t require stalkers to make a credible threat, but it does require victims to feel a high level of fear. I believe that many celebrities do experience a high level of fear when the paparazzi follow them in their cars and flash their cameras in their faces continually. That would be frightening for anyone and I, for one, would not like it.

Rob and all celebrities out there, just know that regular people, regular fans, feel protective of all of you and do not welcome this kind of intrusion in your lives. Be safe, be careful, and know we are with you.

Translation:

Unbelieveably sexy

Twilight Star Robert Pattinson about love without rules, the first, exciting love, why he would love to have a dog and why he only lives in hotels.

Robert Pattinson drinks tea with milk for breakfast. He switchs off the air conditioning and in exchange opens a window. During the interview in the “Four Seasons” Hotel in Beverley Hills the 24-year-old Twilight star wears a black t-shirt with beige Levis jeans. His legendary hair is cut short at the sides. That’s because of his role in the circus-drama “Water for Elephants” set in the 30th, which he shoots at the moment alongside Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz. A huge difference to Edward Cullen, the vampire, with which millions of girls have fallen in love. In the third film of the series, named “Eclipse”, Bella (Kristen Stewart) has to avow to her undying love. In real life both of them remain silent about their relationship. Robert continues to be a man girls dream about.

All your “Twilight” colleagues said that you were in love with Edward after reading the books. In love with a vampire that abstains from sex before marriage. What do you think of that?

I think that Edward’s afraid of sex (laughs). No, I kind of understand his point of view, because the stage in which you are not sure of yourselves in a relationship is the most exciting. Maybe I’m old fashioned in this respect. There shouldn’t be rules for love. Some couples meet in a bar, sleep with each other the same evening and live happily ever after.
What do you think of girls that cry “Marry me” at your film premieres?
It’s mind-blowing but it’s just a part of my job.

You once said that you had the deepest relationship with your dog…

I was only partly serious. Unfortunately my dog, a West Highland Terrier, died last december. He was 18 years old. I love dogs and I’d love to get one again, an older one that’s already been trained. Do I want a dog that’s already perfect? That would be like getting a furnished apartment. Very impersonal.

But you’re used to that right? You only drive rental cars, live in hotels, eat in restaurants. How does it feel to be homeless?

It’s necessary. In Los Angeles I live in 5 different hotels, because after two days the paparazzi will be waiting in front of the hotel. I don’t buy a house because of that. After one week thousands of people would know were I live – that’s no home.

How is it to live in a hotel?

The roomservice’s not good for me. In London I was addicted to greasy indian chicken dishes. Now in L.A. I order 5 healthy dishes, which are delivered in the morning. I’am only able to make toast and I add barbecue sauce to everything (laughs).

Do you sometimes feel lonely in the hotel?

There’s no time for that. I’m surrounded by people all the time. On the set you ask threehundred people “How’s it going?” every day. I could easily live two months without talking to a single person.

Was it preferable not to be famous?

No, only more boring. Former I wasn’t allowed to enter clubs. Now I’m avoiding them. The four months previous to the first “Twilight” premiere were the months I partied the most. All of a sudden I was standing on the guest list of the coolest clubs of L.A. The paparazzi didn’t know me back then but all of the bouncers let me in. In London things are different. If you slip the bouncer 200 pounds, you get in, no matter if you’re famous or not. But I think my clubbing-times have passed.

The box at the right hand corner is just his curriculum vitae but in the section private there stands: lives in Los Angeles, loves Kristen Stewart

The IMAX Experience of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse may be complete for most venues, but for the Smithsonian, it has only just begun.

Starting today (July 27th), Smithsonian IMAX is showing The Twilight Saga: Eclipse for a limited run until August 4th. More information is available here.

Eclipse’s opening in IMAX theaters brought in about $1 million in midnight screening numbers alone, according to The Numbers, and this was record-breaking from prior totals set by Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen ($900,000).

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse debuted in IMAX theaters on June 30th and ran until the middle of July.

The Smithsonian’s showings of Eclipse will all take place at the Lockheed Martin IMAX Theater in Washington, D.C., and tickets for the showings run around $15.00 each. Only nine screenings are scheduled, and they’ll each take place at 7:30 p.m. EST, so if you want to see Eclipse in IMAX one last time and you happen to be in the D.C. area, here’s your chance!

You can find more information about the Smithsonian screenings here.
