Are you all familiar with Lee Pace?
Well, Twi-hards, it’s time to learn and possibly fall in love because we’re hearing Lee is thisclose to being cast as the newest vampire in the next installment of The Twilight Saga.
So what role would cutie Lee play?
Pace, perhaps best known from the before-its-time show Pushing Daisies, is up for the role of Garrett, a friend of Edward’s (that would be Robert Pattinson, just in case you forgot).
The character is described in the script as a tall, nomadic vampire with sandy hair that he keeps tied back with a leather thong. Garrett is also penned as being down-to-earth, laid-back, rugged and having a lightness and element of humor about him.
“Lee is the top person in the running to play Garrett in Breaking Dawn,” a source tells E! News.
As we all know, Bill Condon is directing both Breaking Dawn films, and according to our insider, is “hoping to take it in a more artsy direction.”
Just as long as it’s not a musical, eh?
Production on Dawn is slated to begin this fall, though no exact date has been announced. This up-in-the-air start could be affecting Kristen Stewart, but we’ll get to that tomorrow.
Lee Pace’s manager and publicist have not returned our request for comment, while Summit says no one has been cast yet for the role of Garrett.
Most recently L.P. could be seen in A Single Man and When in Rome.
So do you all approve of the possible new vamp on the block? You know the studio trolls the blogs to read your thoughts, so time to speak up—or type it out—before the offer goes out!
I forgot that there were so many new characters in “Breaking Dawn”! I wonder who Rob’s new co-stars will be?

For the first time since 2007, there was no official “Twilight” presence at the Comic-Con panels this year. But screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg was in attendance, and she was more than willing to take a break from the convention to chat with MTV News about her upcoming work on “Breaking Dawn.” The two films are set to start shooting back-to-back in November, and Rosenberg said she is still working on finalizing the script.
Fans have been most concerned with how Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) pivotal, not to mention traumatic, birthing scene will be portrayed in the movie, and Rosenberg said she and director Bill Condon are continually revising the script to make it work. Despite an earlier comment, she said the scene will be included, but the specifics of how it will be represented have not been solidified yet.
“I’ve written and continue to rewrite it, working on it with Bill Condon … He has a vision as well, but it’s kind of a shared vision I would say, but ultimately it comes down to, what does he actually want to see?” she said. “I know what I want to see, which is, I want to see the terror of the experience. I want to have the experience of the fear and feel her pain. I want to feel everyone’s pain in this.”
Still, Rosenberg said that there are some of the gruesome elements of the scene — like Edward (Robert Pattinson) having to give Bella what has been dubbed a “vampire caesarian” — that she doesn’t think need to be included in the scene. “I want it to be visceral, so that is what’s most important. Do I want to see teeth in placenta? No,” she said. “Someone else may. I don’t actually want to see that, but to each his own.”
Another of the other big scenes in “Breaking Dawn” that has been the subject of some controversy is the imprinting scene. It features Jacob (Taylor Lautner) having what Rosenberg describes as a “spiritual experience” with Bella’s newborn child that ultimately leads to the revelation that the infant is his soul mate.
“One must be very careful with that,” Rosenberg said about the scene, “but hopefully you’ve taken this ride with Jacob for all four movies; you know Jacob, and so I think you’ll experience it the way he does, which is spiritually, as a spiritual experience, as an emotional experience and not something that makes one uncomfortable.”

Today the hacks at HollywoodLife declare in a headline, “EXCLUSIVE! Don’t Worry K-Stew! Reese Witherspoon & R-Patz’s Off-Set Relationship Is Just ‘Mentoring & Friendly!’”
That’s interesting.
Almost three months ago to the day, the same lame outlet sounded the alarm by announcing, “OMG! Robert Pattinson is TOTALLY Flirting with Reese Witherspoon! K-Stew, Did You Hear This?”
At the time, HollywoodLife even went on to add, “Whoa! We bet Kristen Stewart is NOT happy about this news!” and to taunt Stewart, who “has to be so jealous of Reese!”
But now the horrendously “reported” blog claims, “A source on the set of Water for Elephants tells us reports of Rob & Reese becoming more than friends are totally NOT true!”
Wow, we haven’t seen so many flip-flops since we were on the beach in Rio.
For the record, Gossip Cop laughed at HollywoodLife three months ago when we pointed out, “There is no romance between Witherspoon and Pattinson,” and we’re still laughing now.
It’s great when a site fails so miserably with actual news that it’s forced to backtrack on past mistakes and call the clean-up job an “exclusive.”

From the Water for Elephants film blog
July 22, 2010 ~ Updated news with regard to Water for Elephants filming in Tennessee: I contacted Kristan Berona, who is the casting director in charge of ‘background or extra’ casting on WFE, as to what children’s roles they were casting for as part of the TN shoot. She said that they were casting children ages 8-15, boys and girls, to fill 5 roles as Jacob and Marlena’s children. Casting has finished and the candidate’s photos were given to Director Francis Lawrence last night to choose the 5 children that will appear as ‘extras’ in the film. I asked if they had speaking roles and she replied that, no, they would only be ‘background’, or ‘extras’… The ‘extras’ chosen will be shooting for approximately 3 days, but this does NOT mean that WFE is only shooting in TN for 3 days, as I have heard that several scenes will be shot there. Many people have asked me about the casting process and how they can contact the casting company. What is not known is that most film casting is done through agencies and not ‘open casting calls’… What this means is that one has to be registered with a professional casting agency or other professional acting agency to even have access to the casting calls. In the case of the most recent casting notice for WFE it was published on a professional website for actors and you have to register to have access. Kristan let me know that she’s not actually in TN but sorting through applicants photos that were submitted to her. She’s still sorting through submissions for ‘Roustie’ at this very moment…

For some of us, back-to-school shopping is like one of those humiliating teenage rites of passage – less painful than tribal scarification, but more embarrassing than your dad’s first lecture on the topic of “the only thing teenage boys think about is …” It rears its ugly head every August, begging the question: Should I wear skinny jeans this year? And answering: Be honest. Don’t these remind you just a little bit too of Garth Brooks’ cozy crotch Wranglers?
A late-summer shopping excursion (which often happens in the company of a parent who will ask – loudly and in public – whether you still like jeans with “rock star” written down the leg in sequins) is often easier when you have a style guru, a chic sherpa to help you avoid rhinestones on your journey toward fashion enlightenment. Like Edward from “Twilight.” Or Rachel from “Glee.” Both characters have a style that is accessible, inexpensive and have the stamp of approval from a Hollywood costume designer.
Edward: Casual and timeless
We suppose when you’re a vampire and have to live through trends dating back to the 19th century (raw sewage in the streets, knickers), you’d eventually avoid wearing anything too trendy. Edward, the latest in a long line of hunky undead men, maintains perspective by keeping his color palette neutral (black, gray) and choosing jackets with a timeless design. For instance, a peacoat’s lapels never go out of style.
Jacob: Woodsy and weatherproof
Aside from spending hours and hours lifting weights, gulping protein shakes and running around in nearly nothing, the best way to steal the “Twilight” werewolf look is to be prepared for the outdoors. Black hooded sweatshirts, knitted sock caps, thermal T-shirts and boots are all wardrobe staples. Bonus: Thinking WWJD (What Would Jacob Do?) will help you avoid any inclinations to experiment with leather pants.

In 2005, rookie author Stephenie Meyer wrote a book about vampires in just a few months. Faster than she’d written it, Twilight leapt from bookshelves and the world met Bella, Edward and the rest of the Cullen clan. Told from Bella’s point of view, Twilight is the story of a star-crossed couple who cannot consummate their romance because Bella’s love, Edward, is a vampire. Meyer followed her breakthrough with three sequels in the next three years, all of which became gigantic bestsellers.
In 2008, she tried something different (sort of) by retelling the events of the first books, only from Edward’s point of view. Sooner than you can say “glittering vampire,” 12 unfinished chapters from the new manuscript, Midnight Sun, appeared on the Internet. “I think it is important for everybody to understand that what happened was a huge violation of my rights as an author, not to mention me as a human being,” Meyer said in a message to fans. Rather than punish her loyal following, Meyer posted her entire unfinished Midnight Sun draft on her website. The only catch is that it’s unprintable — better bring an e-reader.
