Removing “Paparazzi-Free” Label from Spunk Ransom
August 17th, 2010 | filed in: Site News

It is amusing to me that we have received more complaints and hate since we changed our to “paparazzi-free” policy on the site. After I felt personally responsible for removing paparazzi pictures off the site after Robert felt he could not go home one night after being hounded by the paparazzi, I thought I was doing a good thing. The problem is people who want “paparazzi-free” leave no room for the exception. I understand that and since I am an educated woman and understand this cannot be a gray issue, I have decided to remove the label of “paparazzi-free” so those who are on the crusade to make this happen will have legitimate complaints against those who continue to post paparazzi pictures. Our policy will remain as follows:

We will post on-set pictures taken when Robert is working. However, we will not post personal, non-work related photographs taken by the paparazzi. Exceptions to the rule are made at the owners discretion (ie: paparazzi shot used in magazine scans/promotional ads). We will also post ALL television coverage. Television media outlets such as E! News, Extra, Entertainment Tonight, and Access Hollywood are not paparazzi businesses. Therefore, because their purpose is to merely report the news, it is not covered under our paparazzi-free policy. If this unsatisfactory for you, we are not the site for you. Thank you for supporting us but more importantly supporting Robert Pattinson.

If this policy does not meet your standards, please do not visit our site and stop following us on Twitter because I cannot guarantee you will be happy with our coverage. Our entire staff is here for Robert and his career and are committed to making this a resourceful and entertaining place for fans as we have since we started on MySpace in July 2008. The only difference since then is the removal of intrusive paparazzi pictures while he is out and about.

Thank you.

I am stunned you had to post this, isn’t labeling your site paparazzi free YOUR CHOICE and your own discretion? PPL really do need to take a chill pill.

BUT that said, I do appreciate this post still as it clearly explains what kind of paparazzi pics you will be posting :-) . And I’ll be visiting this site still. Also I do appreciate you not posting the downright intrusive pap pics :-) .

Oh thank goodness! A safe place to visit.

It seems silly that you have to justify your content. The site is yours and the rule is always “don’t like it don’t surf it” it seems you guys have made peace with whatever you’ve chosen to do and that’s great. For some reason your comment system won’t let me capitalize so excuse the poor grammar :)

I visit this site daily (several times-teehee) because your coverage of Rob has always been extensive and supportive. I will admit that i enjoy knowing what he is up to, wearing, doing, reading etc. but also feel bad that in some way my obsession is fueling “the hunt”. It’s a double edged sword, and I find your stance quite reasonable. Let the nit pickers move on, and we will enjoy our rob :) thank you for all your hard work 1000 times over, as I’m sure you are not thanked enough!

it’s amazing that ppl can be so horrible…and over invading the privacy of such a nice person. it doesn’t seem like they’re really fans…or fans that anyone would want to have. i’ve always liked this site…and i would like to see you continue with the no-pap policy. lets get real ppl! be a fan, but don’t over do it! show some love and respect here!

Farah. - August 17, 2010 @ 11:57 pm

You have a site that respects and loves Robert. In Candids have seen torment and suffering, is this what true fans want? No! Just voyeurs!
So thank you, really thank you for your decision.

I love your website and your views on privacy, they desevere that as a coupke and as actors, I certainly wouldn’t want someone in my face 24/7. it is so sad that no one in the media/paps learned from the tragic accident of princess diana … we have the same thing going on here. bless there hearts for wanting a private intimate life, isn’t it all we want in our own lifes.

I truly love and suport your website whole heartly

I love your site and respect whatever decision you make. I’ll continue to visit it no matter what you decide. I’ve often felt guilty about viewing pap pics and have felt very sorry for Rob & Kristen at times. However, I’ve had a change of heart in the past few days since the Montreal “incident.” Now I feel like they both know exactly what they’re doing and that it was no accident that they were photographed during the PDA. After two years of relentless hounding by the paps, why would they be surprised that they were photographed on a public street at 8:15 p.m.? And as another person commented on another website, you don’t use the front entrance of LAX unless you want to be “Papped.” Even Rob has said they know how to avoid the unwanted attention when they want to. I now believe that Rob & Kristen are manipulating the papparazzi instead of the other way around. While I agree that the paps often go way beyond the boundaries of human decency, I think Robsten have fed the frenzy with their attempts at secrecy while at the same time showing up in public with the same shoes, matching bracelets, wearing each other’s shirts, etc. As a big fan of them both who has bought into the big “are they/aren’t they?” deal, I feel a little manipulated myself.

I’m so disappointed you have made this decision. This was one of the only site I felt respected Rob now. A safe place to come. to say your chancing your site to be like all the rest, I feel it’s a lame excuse. The only reason you would become a pap friendly site is to get more hits since the resent invasive photos. After all, if you really sincerely supported Rob. You wouldn’t care less who complained to you. who cares what the minority thinks. It’s not like anyone can hurt you through the computer screen. It’s a terrible shame you are more interested in pleasing the few stalkers out there and unfortunately at a cost to Rob’s privacy. It’s clear who you are more loyal to. If your going to turn pap friendly, at least have the balls to admit its for hits.

admin - August 20, 2010 @ 7:59 am

Um, I do not think you are a regular visitor of our site. We were paparazzi friendly BEFORE we decided to go paparazzi-free. After we went with the label “paparazzi-free” we got all of this backlash for not removing it 100% (ie: working on the set, magazine scans). We DID NOT and WILL NOT post the invasive pictures that recently came out of him and Kristen Stewart. We also DID NOT and WILL post image surrounding where he may be living. If you were a visitor, like you said, you would have noticed THEY WERE NOT POSTED. I may not have balls but at least I have brains.

sara - August 22, 2010 @ 8:36 am

i just didn’t get why i decided to make this a paparazzi free but still posting those gossip mags scans. was it to protect rob’s privacy? if so, you are doing it wrong. those mags are the biggest pap’s sponsors. so basically you are helping and paying those guys to stalk rob. obviously this is your site and you are the one to decide what to post. but it’s a big hypocrisy to say you can’t stand watching rob suffer and then post set pics (he said many times he can’t concentrate because of the paps) and gossip mags scans(sponsoring paps).

admin - August 22, 2010 @ 12:26 pm

If you think about it Sara, I am actually HURTING their biggest sponsors by making the magazines available on the site for free. No money for the mags means a loss for the paparazzi. As I have stated before, if you disagree with our decision, I am not the site for you and don’t force you to visit.

Papassassin - August 23, 2010 @ 4:54 pm

@ admin
I’m well aware you where a pap friendly site. Amongst others. I remember very clearly when you posted the UK underwear shopping pap pictures. I remember thinking they where to invasive. That’s why I was so impressed you became pap free and so disappointed it was just a faze and you switched back.
As for me not being a regular visitor to this site. I think you need to check my email and other user name (Wideyes) Although not a big commenter. You would see I’ve been coming here for around 2 years . ME BRAINLESS? REALLY?
I wont lower myself to personal insults when someone has an opinion. Thanks :)

admin - August 23, 2010 @ 7:01 pm

And yet, you are so disappointed, you keep coming back. *confused* As for insults, you threw the first stone, sad to say “at least have the balls to admit its for hits.” But hey, you are welcome! :) If you need some Rob sites to visit, let me know!
