Thanks to the Twilight Saga Robert Pattinson has staked his claim on the hearts of millions as Edward Cullen. And that fame has already earned him a fortune…

With Twilight mania sweeping the globe it is perhaps unsurprising that vampire Robert Pattinson, aka Edward Cullen, found his way on to the Sunday Times Young Millionaires List this year.

His new entry on the list places him at 13th, above Charlotte Church and Cheryl Cole but below Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame. And at the tender age of just 24.

For the uninitiated, the Twilight Saga is a series of romantic fantasy films, which built up a cult following, based on novels by the American author Stephenie Meyer.

Robert Pattinson, with a notable similarity to Robert Smith of the Cure in the picture above, is its star. He is just the latest Brit to make it big in Hollywood.

His new found fame and fortune are still seemingly strange to him though, since he struggled diligently in acting for years.

He started acting in amateur plays at the age of 15 with the Barnes Theatre Company.

His first real break came along with a supporting role in the television film Curse of the Ring in 2005. However most of the earnings from his first acting job then went towards paying off his fees for his attendance at the Harrodian School, in Barnes, West London.

But none of it might have happened. He has admitted that at one stage he was ready to give up acting, and spent a year instead trying to break into the music business: he’s also a talented musician, playing both guitar and piano.

His next big break came along in the form of the role of Cedric Diggory, a character in the Harry Potter films. However, this temporary character was nothing in comparison to the Twilight persona he would go on to create.

Twilight was the defining moment that cemented his place in the hearts and minds of millions of people, as well as making him rich.

When he first took on the role of Edward Cullen he was paid an already hefty $2m (approximately £1.3m) and by the time the mass hysteria of fandom had kicked in, the second instalment saw both him and co-star Kristen Stewart receive around six times their original fee – around £8m each.e

Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson are two of Hollywood’s hottest leading men. With both the “Charlie St. Cloud” and the “Twilight Saga” star sporting some new facial hair, fans are debating, who’ has the better beard, Zac Efron or Robert Pattinson?

Zac Efron’s new beard is certainly generating headlines. As Zac tours the country premiering “Charlie St. Cloud” around the world, new photos and buzz about the facial hair comes around each day. Robert Pattinson, however, has had his beard all Summer long.

Zac Efron recently revealed that his beard isn’t to be compared to that of Pattinson’s. When ask who had the thicker, fuller beard, Efron replied, “Probably Rob.” Of course Pattinson has had some more time to grown his out.

Pattinson began to grown his beard just after finishing up filming for “Water For Elephants.” Pattinson has had almost the entire Summer off, and he’s taking advantage of it by relaxing and not shaving.

While Zac’s beard is a bit more trimmed and tamed, such as his good guy image in Hollywood, Robert seems to just let his go to be wild, a bit laid back, like his personality. Do their beards reveal their personality type?

Who has the better beard? Robert Pattinson or Zac Efron?

Reeves, however, is in his 40s, so unless the new movie would be an update, someone else may have to take over Reeves and Winter’s roles. Might we suggest Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson in the titular roles?

Maybe not. Which is where you, our dear Moviefone readers, come in.

Robsten Still Going Strong

-Robert Pattinson reportedly made a pitstop on his cross-country road trip and visited Kristen Stewart in New Orleans. (I don’t know what I like more: that a superstar like RPattz is on a cross-country road trip with pals, or that the story about it has the word “MEOW” in the copy…)

Let the Great Window Wars of 2010 begin. For weeks, one Village A apartment has sported a life-sized cardboard cutout of Taylor Lautner wearing a Georgetown shirt on its window—presumably as a modest measure to cover those washboard abs. Not to be outdone by Team Jacob, however, Edward Cullen fans recently retaliated with a life-sized Robert Pattinson cutout sporting a Hoya Saxa shirt and a caption reading, “Jacob sucks!”

In short, the battle lines had been drawn—student versus student and werewolf versus vampire in a fight for Village A’s hearts and minds.

Then, Chewie arrived.

In a move unforeseen by Georgetown’s Twilight community, a cutout of Chewbacca broke his silence, proudly roaring, “Twilight sucks!” (Of course, translated from its original Shyriiwook.) And it doesn’t look wise to upset him, considering the blaster he’s got in his hands.

A Justin Bieber cardboard cutout jumped into the heat of things at the last minute too, but we’ve got some advice for the trio of heartthrobs: Let the Wookiee win.

Kudos to the Robert Pattinson fan at Georgetown University!

@Hollywood2Bklyn noticed that this picture looked familiar to a music video….

If you watch Maroon 5′s “She Will Be Loved” video – it appears they shot their video where Rob was photographed for Details Magazine. You can see the floor and balcony clearly paused at 0:06, 3:51, 3:53,3:57, 3:59-4:01, 4:04, 4:08, and 4:10. What do you think? Same place?

Updated: It would help if I included the music video! Sorry!

Remember those “Sesame Street” shorts that would teach us the differences between opposites, like “hot” versus “cold” or “up” versus “down”?

HollywoodLife must not have paid too much attention.

Once again we visit the site’s alternate universe of blatant contradictions.

Last month, HollywoodLife bemoaned the “string of bad luck” Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart experienced with (supposed) bad timing.

Their “hellacious work schedules” were “keeping them apart,” claimed the site. After all, Stewart was beginning to film On the Road, while Pattinson was supposedly “tackling” Unbound Captives, meaning he had “no free time” to spend with her.

Gossip Cop pointed out that there actually was no start date for Unbound Captives, that Pattinson would have many chances to see Stewart, and that HollywoodLife just wanted to create some drama where there was absolutely none.

Fast forward to today.

“It’s a good thing that Robert Pattinson has so much free time on his hands, because that means he’s able to visit girlfriend Kristen Stewart at work whenever he pleases!” declares HollywoodLife.

Seriously.

That’s what the site now “reports,” based on an “insider.”

Somehow or another, according to HollywoodLife, Pattinson has “no free time” yet “so much free time.”

Those look like complete opposite premises to us.

Reality would probably be so frustrating for HollywoodLife… if it didn’t think of it as negotiable.

Everyone’s favourite vampire revealed being a judge on X Factor is something he could sink in teeth into.

Rob, 24, told UK’s Now magazine: ‘It would be one of the best things ever to get paid for handing out Simon Cowell-style insults for the day.

‘I wouldn’t want to be one of the nice guys, I’d want to be like Simon – otherwise it’s no fun.’

Pattinson added: ‘I don’t think he’s rude, I think he’s just painfully honest, which is what makes him so good.

‘He must absolutely love his job, it can’t be one you’d ever get bored with.’

Irish bookie Paddy Power are betting on who will play Doctor Who in the rumoured Doctor Who movie and Hollywood star Johnny Depp has now jumped ahead of former favourite and current Time Lord Matt Smith in the betting.

Johnny Depp has played many quirky roles before, Edward Scissorhands, the Mad Hatter and Willy Wonka to name but a few, and Paddy Power now make him the favourite to land the role of Doctor Who in the first Doctor Who movie (sequels would surely follow) and you can back Depp at 2/1 with Paddy Power. The three roles previously mentioned were all in movies directed by Tim Burton so if he was to direct the Doctor Who movie Depp would surely be a shoe in. Not far behind Depp though is current Doctor Who Matt Smith, many fans wouldn’t want the role to be taken over by a big Hollywood name and if you think Matt Smith can keep the role Paddy Power will give you odds of 9/4.

Former Doctor Who David Tennant was one of the more popular actors to play the famous Doctor and he seems a decent choice to reprise the role for a Doctor Who movie, Tennant can be backed at 8/1 with Paddy Power. A less popular choice and one that would surely only appeal to an American audience is Hugh Grant, he is worryingly short at 10/1 with Paddy Power ahead of fellow Hollywood Brits Orlando Bloom at 12/1 with Paddy Power and Colin Firth at 14/1 with Paddy Power. A better bet at 14/1 could be Twilight star Robert Pattinson, he is capable of getting many new teenage fans to Doctor Who and is a good bet at 14/1 with Paddy Power.

Google Translation,

Hollywood is a land of contrasts where there are good and some bad guys. In the first part of Robert Pattinson and Charlie Sheen to the second.

At the opposite pole is Pattinson, 24, and whose public life has long been confused with the staff between the fervor of his fans. And is that good old Pattinson is the first to admit that his career would not exist were it not for the fever created by his vampire character Edward Cullen. However, if he was, concluded the shooting would fade as one of the vampires in the series. Right, polite and reserved, there is no scandal that bears his name. Pattinson is a good boy and unlike Hollywood Sheen, who seems to enjoy his reputation as a devil, the young Brit would do anything to get rid of the “sambenito” that has given so much fame.  “I’ve learned to relax a bit but still annoy me,” he says after having to change hotel six times in a month to escape the paparazzi. Little loophole is left: we have extended the evening fever until 2012.
