In an effort to verify this and perhaps get some more official information, belamifilm.com contacted Protagonist Pictures directly.  We asked them if they could confirm any release dates, for any country.  Their response was:

‘No confirmed release date as yet so anything circulating on the web is purely speculative.’

When we asked specifically about the Studio Canal release date, we were told that date is a tentative release date … and is likely to change

Our questions regarding when we might see the highly anticipated trailer for the film were left unanswered.

And finally, Protagonist Pictures were able to confirm to belamifilm.com that Bel Ami will in fact be screening at film festivals in the future but they have not yet decided on which ones. We will keep you posted on this as we find out more.

It looks as though we will have to wait a little longer to get some North American distributor news as well as some official release dates for the film.  Wish we had more confirmed information to share but we will keep you posted as we hear more.

The Twilight Saga” came in at number one on our list this week, not in the least because the Page added 661,400 and 648,000 new Likes on two different days, likely due to the aforementioned Page consolidation. The Page added a total of 1.5 million Likes and now counts a total of 14.2 million; nothing really going on there other than promoting the films’ stars and related merchandise.

A major rumor making waves over the past twenty-four hours claims that the second part of Breaking Dawn “will be released in 3-D.”Similar reports surfaced last spring.

Once again, they are false.

The site behind the claim, which warns visitors not to “fall for any casting scams,” is itself highly questionable.

A rep for Summit tells Gossip Cop, “Neither film is being shot in 3D,” and calls the rumors “fabricated.”

And a source informs Gossip Cop that while 3D effects can be added during post-production (as they have with some recent releases), right now it is too premature to say whether either part of Breaking Dawn will be converted.

Dear Ted:
I was just wondering if you know anything about Walter Salles asking Robert Pattinson not to return to the set of On the Road after the pics of Kristen and him in Montreal surfaced? I mean, I understand that Salles is a serious director, and may not tolerate paparazzi or the type of media circus Rob seems to bring with him. But can a director really stop an actor’s significant other from visiting them on set? Love u and ur column btw.
Lisa

Dear And Cut:
Sure, a director can pretty much make up his own rules on set and the actors, if they want to still be in said film, better friggin’ obey. But look at it this way, Rob visiting is already hyping the hell out of this movie and it isn’t even close to being out! Sure Walter may get testy with the paps, but they were gonna hunt the set down with or without Pattinson. From what we heard from set sources Rob totally was not disruptive and stayed out of the way. Kristen Stewart wasn’t the only one who enjoyed his company.

Dear Ted:
Since our favorite sparkle boy and his bella are MIA what are the chances of these two tying the knot while in New Orleans? They seem like the type that just might surprise us and get hitched in secret. Am I way off base? Could they elope? Here’s hoping.
Ciarad

Dear Off Base:
Considering Rob and Kristen Stewart are no longer in NOLA I’m gonna go with no. R.Pattz is in London. And as for the eloping part, these two would be prone to do something like that in secret but sorry babes, they are not at the marriage step yet.

Dear Ted:
Sane and reasonable Rob and Kristen fans would like to know about their movie projects or music in Rob’s case. The fact that they are in a happy relationship is old news (no matter how those flea bitten Nonstens spin it) so what’s next after BD? Do they have any of HW’s top directors and/or producers waiting to hear from them?
Colete

Dear Business Over Pleasure:
Well C., the fact you typed your letter with correct punctuation and capitalization tells me you could be sane after all. Both Rob and Kristen have tons of scripts and directors throwing themselves at them constantly. But because R. & K. are actually talented it’s really those two beauts that get a lot of say in picking their next projects. But what they choose is uber important when Twilight finally wraps. It will really dictate the longevity of their career.

According to BelAmiMovieUK from the Bel Ami message board:

According to our source there are no immediate plans to release anything as the movie is not yet near completion,it is expected at distributors by Dec so maybe by mid Oct we should start getting something.
    Fingers crossed

So very hopeful and that would be terrific! However, this statement could be interpreted in a number of different ways…

Thanks to susie5552003 from Rob’s message board on Imdb.

The article, Blatant Insubordination: The Fat People Show, is an editoral, in which they briefly compare Rob’s good looks to Jonah Hill’s funny personality….without the good looks.

CBS’ new fat people show makes me…uncomfortable.

They don’t want you to call it a fat people show, mind you. But based on footage I’ve seen of the pilot episode, and reviews I’ve read, that seems to be what Mike and Molly is.

Billy Gardell stars as Mike Biggs (Get it? Big?), an overweight cop who attends overeaters anonymous, and meets Molly Flynn (Melissa McCarthy), another overeater who teaches 4th grade. She invites Mike to speak to her class. Later in the episode, the shy Mike gets up the courage to ask Molly out on a date. She eagerly agrees.

I don’t want to be a troll with this. I really don’t. So keep in mind that the show isn’t just fat jokes, and some of the jokes are actually funny. I know nothing about Billy Gardell, but he seems like he’d be a funny guy to watch. Meanwhile, Melissa McCarthy has always had a natural charm and likability about her. So they make a good pair.

That’s why this show makes me uncomfortable. They’re both good performers, but in this show they find themselves the butt of a lot of tasteless fat jokes. While the entire show may not revolve around weight, and the need to lose weight, that does seem to be the central premise. It’s the big thing they have in common. Kind of like a sitcom version of one of those reality-TV weight-loss shows. That’s fitting, because the writers and producers, including Chuck Lorre, who developed Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory, say the show is about real people, and real issues and real relationships.

There is a bit of credence to that argument. When I was in college, I knew a girl who was absolutely repulsed by the movie Norbit. She was built larger herself, and kept asking: “Why are fat people funny?” In my opinion, it’s easier for larger people to be funny because they do come off as everymen, and we can relate and sympathize with them more. They’re non-threatening. Jonah Hill doesn’t have the movie star good looks of Robert Pattinson, so he has a more immediate access to our funny bone. Someone like Ryan Reynolds would be just the opposite. He can be funny, but because he’s got the chiseled abs and the supermodel looks, it’s that much harder for him to make that connection. That’s my take on it, at least. Plus, the fact that so many Americans are overweight nowadays only helps that “real” factor.
