It’s official. “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” – along with M. Night Shyamalan’s ”The Last Airbender” – leads the nominations with nine. Unfortunately, those nominations are not for the Oscars, the MTV Movie Awards, or even the People’s Choice Awards. “Eclipse” is nominated for nine Golden Raspberries (aka Razzies), an award that “celebrates” the worst in film.

I know. I screamed at my computer monitor, too.

No doubt you’ve already started organizing fellow Twi-Hards, lighting torches in preparation to lead an angry mob toward the home of Razzies’ founder, John J.B. Wilson. However, before forgetting your classy Twi-principles in order to enact some kind of “Frankenstein”-justice on Wilson, the face of this Twi-Hatred and a man whose two middle initials clearly indicate he thinks he’s better than us, please take a a moment to read this.

First of all, the people who vote to nominate “the worst” films of the year are not filmmakers, actors, journalists or critics of reputation. Before creating the Razzies, Wilson was a copywriter and publicist. He is no more of a film expert than you or me. He is simply an early proponent of the “Hater Culture” that pervades our culture today. When he created the concept in 1981, there were no Internet message boards or blogs for him to post his opinions, so he created an awards ceremony (OK, that was kind of a smooth move).

Being a publicist by trade, Wilson knows that to grab the public’s attention, he must nominate movies people care about. And people obviously care about “Twilight,” more every year in fact. That’s what’s most interesting about these nominations: ”Eclipse” is the first “Twilight” movie to earn a Worst Picture nomination, despite the fact that it generally received better a better response than its predecessors and earned a 50 percent approval rating on RottenTomatoes (the same percentage as the first, actually, but far better than “New Moon’s” 27 percent).

Considering that most movie critics are cranky old men* and that “Twilight” is primarily targeted at cheerful young females (and of course, enlightened 30-year-old males), 50 percent is a pretty damn good score. Need further proof that the Razzies are just nominating “Twilight” for the publicity? Look at the scores of the other Worst Picture nominees.

  • “The Bounty Hunter”: 7 percent
  • “The Last Airbender”: 7 percent
  • “Sex and the City 2″: 16 percent
  • “Vampires Suck”: 4 percent (Note: That’s what you get for messing with “Twilight,” “Vampires Suck”)

Robert Pattinson and Kirsten Stewart, meanwhile, are up for Worst Actor and Actress, respectively. To prove how little weight this carries, notice last year The Jonas Brothers won Worst Actor for playing themselves in “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience.” How can they be “actors” in a documentary? Even if you do think they’re annoying, it’s not because they’re doing a poor job at acting. They’re doing a poor job of being themselves, something all teenagers have problems accomplishing.

Sandra Bullock won Worst Actress last year for “All About Steve,” the same year she won the Oscar for “The Blind Side.” Obviously she’s not a bad actress. She just happened to pick the wrong movie. Picking the wrong husband (Jesse James) doesn’t make her a horrible lover.

The Golden Raspberries’ history is filled with people and films that are awesome. Sylvester Stallone’s been nominated for Worst Actor 13 different years. News alert: Sylvester Stallone is awesome. He’s nominated again for Worst Director this year for ”The Expendables,” which is a really fun shoot-em-up. Who doesn’t like older guys that shoot a bunch of people? Dolph Lundgren shoots a guy in half! IN HALF! Pattinson and Stewart should feel honored to keep such company.

Ultimately, this is just another minor blip from Twi-Haters who can’t stand the success of our beloved franchise. As Twi-Hards, we deal with that kind of mindset every day. Just because these Twi-Haters have an awards show doesn’t mean you have to listen to them. Just ignore them. (And remember, just because someone has two middle initials doesn’t mean they’re better than you.)

So to all movie lovers, keep watching your favorite flicks regardless of the Razzie nominations it gets. Well, except “Vampires Suck.” That really is a horrible movie that deserves every Razzie it receives.

Oh boy! He is taking heat for the following tweet he made:

Congratulations to Kristen, Rob, and Taylor on their RAZZIE NOMINATIONS!!!

Was he kidding? Was he being mean-spirited to Robert, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner? You be the judge. Though, to be fair, someone did call him out on being apart of the nominations too with the Worst Ensemble nomination for “Eclipse”.

Thanks @bigcombat: “Eclipse got a worst ensamble nod too” I wasn’t aware of this THAT’S AWESOME! I got the perfect place for my RAZZIE LOL!

He seems to be taking it in stride?

We don’t see much of the Twi-hunk in his ‘Breaking Dawn’ downtime, but we do know he buys his own groceries!  Share  Robert Pattinson is just a regular guy! When the 24-year-old isn’t busy playing a vampire and hiding from photographers, he’s doing the same things we are! HollywoodLife.com spoke to a source who reveals that Rob stopped by Maxwell’s Market, a local Baton Rouge, La., grocery store that specializes in fresh meats, seafood, and prepared foods, to grab a bite to eat and pick up a few things!  “Rob came into Maxwell’s with a bodyguard and ordered a Cobb salad,” our source says. “I immediately knew it was him but he just kept to himself. He even did a little bit of grocery shopping.”  We know Rob lives with his girlfriend and co-star Kristen Stewart, 20, so one can only hope he picked up some items to cook her a romantic dinner!  We’re glad to hear Rob isn’t too famous to do his own shopping!

Dear Ted:
Have you heard anything about one of the main castmembers from Breaking Dawn having “attitude” on set and causing the wedding filming to be moved up because they are being “dismissed” by Summit early? The word is that is maybe Robert Pattinson or Nikki Reed are causing trouble in the cast again.
J

Dear Here We Go:
Actually, this is the first Twilight set that is pretty freaking drama-free. Nikki may not be tight with Rob or Kristen anymore, but that broad is way over the triangle, trust.

Dear Ted:
Kristen Stewart nominated for a Razzie? Come on! I can understand where Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are nominated, but K.Stew? She’s the one who carries the Twilight movies! No wonder she is in disgust for being cast in the films. Such an outrage! Did they choose her as a nominee solely because of her leading role status in Eclipse, also nominated for worst film?
—Kimbo

Dear Preach It:
I hear ya, sister! Kristen’s the only good thing that gets me through that crap. I haven’t exactly hidden the fact I’m more into the real-life goss than the no-sex longing onscreen. Here’s to Breaking Dawn!

Dear Ted:
No matter what you say about Robsten the Twi-headjobs choose whatever spin they feel like. I sorely feel reading comprehension in America is on the downswing!
linda

Dear Literacy Problem:
True that!

A very persistent ;) and well organized group of Robsten fans from the country if Chile is seeking support from fellow fans to get Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to visit their country. Naturally, Spunk Ransom being a “Team Switzerland” site on the issue, doesn’t mind helping out a fellow Rob fan! Here is their plea and video:

hey guys , this is another video of our campaign “ROBSTEN IN CHILE”, obviously lol and we hope that someone of the cast will see this video and also, that they will see all the work that all the people have been doing for this cause, and as you know our campaing is about working for bring this amazing couple to our country and… what can we say about the video? this means EVERYTHING , to us, an experience like this could be unforgettable, our country have been suffering a lot of catastrophic experiences and have they here will be the best thing we ever lived.

So, the question is, why they shouldn’t come to Chile?

there are lots of fans that are waiting for them and all of us would welcome them with all the love of our hearts.

Chile is the only country to missing them visit and we think that isn’t fair. Why all have to be in Europe, Asia or North America? We are in the end of the world, yes, but that isn’t mean that we’re a little country or we don’t have advances, because we do.

Also, we are the most loyal fans of them and the Twilight Saga. We love them so much.
Other countries have had the privilege of having them in South America… so Why not Chile?

We have been learning to speak english even, to talk with them.

We hope that all the work that we have been doing work and they come to Chile very soon.

All the love from Robsten Chile Fans Club.

And last but not lease, they are on Facebook! Like them today if you are interested!
