“Twilight”-star Robert Pattinson says the highlight of his role in the movie “Water for Elephants” was co-starring with Tai the elephant, but if he could be a circus animal it would be a bear, like the cinnamon roll-fed, vegetarian bear on set.
Pattinson told reporters on Wednesday that “I like the idea of sitting around all day, being a bear and then eating pastries.”
The 24-year-old actor joined Academy Award-winner Christoph Waltz and director Francis Lawrence in Berlin to present his latest movie, based on a 2006 best-seller about a traveling circus in the 1930s. The film opened last week the U.S.
Pattinson plays veterinary student Jacob Jankowski. He said he hadn’t read the book before accepting the part, but that he is fascinated by the Great Depression era.

Back in February, Life & Style claimed Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were “headed for a split.”
According to the tabloid back then, the “increasingly incompatible” stars were “on their last legs as a couple.”
Two and a half months later, Stewart and Pattinson are still standing – and happy – and Life & Style has egg on its face.
But instead of admitting it was wrong and slinking away, the magazine still insists that the Twilight leads are primed to part as soon as Breaking Dawn is done.
The mag recaps how the couple recently filmed their characters’ “steamy” honeymoon scene in St. Thomas, making sure to emphasize how affectionate they were.
That’s interesting, because in the February article, the same tab said Stewart and Pattinson are “never affectionate.”
According to an insider, in St. Thomas “Robert and Kristen did take after take, making out and rolling around in the water. The atmosphere was really romantic and lighthearted. Between takes, Rob would play around with Kristen and lift her up in the water.”
Wow, talk about the behavior of an “incompatible” couple supposedly on the verge of splitting!
After acknowledging how happy Stewart and Pattinson are, however, Life & Style claims “this getaway marked the bittersweet end of an era.”
Um, how exactly?
“It was almost as if they were bidding farewell to their real-life romance too,” a so-called “insider” tells the tabloid.
Ohhh-kay.
“This was Rob and Kristen’s last hurrah,” alleges a different Life & Style source. “Now that the franchise is over, it’ll be harder for them to stay together.”
No, it will not.
“Like a high school senior who’s changed since freshman year, Rob isn’t the same person he was at the beginning of his Twilight journey – which is causing some tension with Kristen,” explains the article.
OK, let’s review.
First, Stewart and Pattinson were going to break up because they were not affectionate. Then they were going to break up because they showed too much affection. And now they’re supposedly going to break up because there’s “some tension,” which Life & Style’s own report from St. Thomas totally contradicts.
Maybe the tab should take a vacation.
