Every time Robert Pattinson shows up at a major event, I always, always hear from two friends who are obsessed with him, we’ll call them the Italians, because they are, and they copy me on their emails like it matters to me, gushing about how “hot” he is which, as you know, is debatable.

Yesterday Robert Pattinson and the Twilight situation kicked off Comic-Con.

And yet not a word from either one of them. Not a word. Not a text. Nothing on bbm. Total radio silence from the Italians.

You know why?

Not even they could make excuses for The Hair.

Have you seen The Hair? Here – take a look at The Hair.

Thing is, I don’t actually mind The Hair. When it’s combed down and styled, before he puts his teapouring hands through it, I think it kinda looks good. The problem is he’s so self-conscious he can’t stop putting his teapouring hands through it, and whatever, if he wants to mess up The Hair, that’s up to him but when he does that he’s showing me those Things, and while I may have f-cked up feet, feet in general are not attractive appendages anyway while hands…

Those willowy weirdly delicate little hands…

Are the physical equivalent of a ghost story, or the sounds that come in the night from the basement, the wind through the chimes before the chill, a creepy breath behind your ear – son, can you take up carpentry or something, roughen that sh-t up a little?

Anyway, here are a few shots of the Twilight cast at the Breaking Dawn presser and panel yesterday. Kristen Stewart has such a cute little body. The Big Three, Stewart, Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner were supposed to be shot for Entertainment Weekly while here to cover an issue to be released closer to when the movie comes out. This was scheduled well in advance. Not sure though if The Hair is messing with that plan though. PS. The hair is for a movie.

More on the parties later.

The Ugly: Robert Pattinson debuted a new, odd do at Comic Con on Thursday that is apparently for his new role in Cosmopolis. He is a pretty guy but wow, is that hair ugly.

Comic-Con just kicked off, and it seems to be the place if you want to gawk at some of the most attractive men, like ever, in the whole entire world, or at least in Hollywood. With panels for everything from “Twilight” to “Captain America” to “Haywire” to “In Time” (and that’s only naming a very, very small smattering of what the big event has to offer), the eye candy is certainly in abundance.

MTV News has certainly already gotten our hands on some of these guys at the annual nerd fest (shame on you if you missed our “Breaking Dawn” special yesterday) and plans to get our hands on more (like today at 6 p.m. EST, for instance) as Comic-Con plays out, and so it had us wondering: Who is the fairest of them all? We know who we might pick, but we want to know who gets your blood pumping.

So, who do you think is the sexiest dude in San Diego? Is it “Captain America” himself, Chris Evans? One of the “Twilight” boys, Taylor Lautner or Robert Pattinson (and his new “Cosmopolis”-inspired haircut)? Does “In Now” star Justin Timberlake get your vote, or does your heart belong to Channing Tatum?

This is from Us Weekly so be sure to take this as an unreliable rumor…

After a busy day of Comic-Con panels, loves Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson capped off Thursday night with a romantic dinner at Nobu, located in San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel.

Keeping a low profile, Stewart, 21, and Pattinson, 25, spent time chatting up Justin Timberlake, 30, who was in town to promote his new thriller In Time (costarring Amanda Seyfried, Matt Bomer, Olivia Wilde, Alex Pettyfer and Cilian Murphy).

As the Breaking Dawn couple continued to feast on the restaurant’s signature Japanese cuisine, Timberlake finished his meal before slipping out of the hotel’s secret

Nice summary points from yesterday’s Comic Con!

Twilight always commands attention when it comes to Comic-Con, and this year is no different. Breaking Dawn, Part 1, the penultimate film in the series based on Stephenie Meyer’s books, comes out in November starring Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, Robert Pattinson as her vampire beau Edward Cullen and Taylor Lautner as werewolf Jacob Black, the third part of this love triangle. Here are 10 interesting factoids we gleaned from assorted press opps and the fan-packed panel (beware a few spoilers ahead):

1. Stewart took Bella’s emotional journey from her wedding to her pre-transformation honeymoon to the birthing of her child very personally. “I can’t draw a line between myself and her,” she says. “For everything I do, it’s hard to take myself out of it. I’ve been building myself up to these moments since I was 17. These are emotional and cathartic moments. They’re very rooted in a reality I can see myself in. Anyone who reads the book can imagine it. (But) I couldn’t let the book punch me in the face every morning. I had to let the moments happen. It’s very true to the book but there are some surprises that suprised me, too.” Adds Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon: “There is no bigger fan of Twilight than Kristen.”

2. During the filming of the honeymoon in Brazil, Stewart spotted an extra who looked just like Lautner. After seeing a picture of the guy, “I even thought it was me,” he says. According to Stewart, “he looked like the Eclipse poster.”

3. Condon started out in horror movies, and that’s just what the second half of the first Breaking Dawn, Part 1 is. “The two movies are very different one from the other,” he says. “The first one obviously has the strong romantic element with the wedding and the honeymoon, but then it gets very, very dark, and that’s exciting.” And Breaking Dawn, Part 2? “An epic. The second one’s a Kurosawa movie.”

4. Speaking of horror movies, the cast made the birthing scene of Bella and Edward’s haf-vampire baby Renesmee sound like the chest-popping scene from Alien. “I thought it was so cool,” Stewart says. “We really tried to go as hardcore as possible. We didn’t want to do a normal birthing scene.” When Taylor read the book for the first time, “the birth scene was a LOT to take in,” he says. “I had no idea how it would look visually.”

5. During the Comic-Con panel, a clip was shown featuring Jacob protecting Bella and the Cullen vampire clan from his wolf pack. Condon says they are scenes that don’t appear in the book. One fan in the audience, however, commented, “Why would they show stuff that wasn’t in the book?”

6. Another clip was shown from Bella and Edward’s Brazilian honeymoon featuring an amusing sequence with Bella trying to ready herself for their first night as a married couple and Edward in the water without any clothes. During the Q&A session of the panel, a fan took note of his impressive back muscles. “I can speak for us all when I say, ‘Nyum nyum nyum.’ ”

7. A pregnant fan asked Stewart about playing a pregnant woman. “I felt so strongly connected to this,” she says. “She’s like a little cat in a corner who really will scratch your eyes out to defend” her baby.

8. One of the male fans asked Pattinson how it was to be surrounded by so many attractive actresses during filming. “It’s great being surrounded by hot girls all the time,” he says. “It’s why I became an actor.” Taylor also chimed in: “There are worse jobs.”

9. For the record, Lautner would like to be the next big action hero — and he’ll get a chance to make his mark in that arena with the September thriller Abduction. “It’s not all I want to do. What I like about acting the most is being challenged by so many things,” he says. Lautner does lament not being able to use his martial-arts skills and athleticism in a lot of stunts and fight scenes. “I actually was jealous of my CGI wolf,” he says, “although he is cute and fluffy.”

10. The ending of the series is looming for the cast — especially since filming has wrapped. “Are we going to get together and have dinners every week? Probably not,” cast member Nikki Reed says. “But it’s been a great thing to create these kinds of friendships. Adds Ashley Greene: “I think it will be a sad thing when all of this comes to an end.”
