Elite Affiliate Robert Pattinson Mom’s reported,
August 23, Water for Elephants video rental version (Italian dvd version – dvd & blue ray) will be available in stores in Italy. The retail version of the same DVD will be available in Italian stores on September 13.
There are certain actors I find myself rooting for. For one reason or another I rally behind them and hope they succeed. Robert Pattinson is one of those actors. I hate that he became part of a franchise with such vehement hatred spewed its way, making it difficult for him to be taken seriously. A lot of people holdTwilight against him and that’s too bad because I think he has legitimate talent. That itself is probably a crazy statement to some, but I stand behind it. I’m hoping Bel Ami is a film that helps Pattinson start to rid the bad, sparkling vampire taste from some folk’s mouths.
Before this trailer I wasn’t really aware of Bel Ami. I wasn’t familiar with the novel by Guy de Maupassant either, so I didn’t have any idea what to expect. What I got looks like a fairly interesting story of a man using his considerable charms to seduce the wives of influential men in order to boost his social status. Pattinson looks fine as the lead, but his co-star Uma Thurman looks less than impressive. Thurman has rarely impressed me outside her work in Tarantino films, so this doesn’t shock me, but I still hope the film proves her to give a stronger performance than the trailer leads me to believe. Kristin Scott Thomas also makes a welcome appearance and I’m certainly not a person who would casually write off a film that is smart enough to cast her. The story of Bel Ami intrigues me, but the trailer also shows off some strong production values. Between the plot, the sets and especially the costumes, this is a film I’ll definitely give a look when I get a chance to see it.
With the end in sight for Twilight, here’s hoping Robert Pattinson can break out of the franchise and make a name for himself on his own merits. I’m not sure if Bel Ami is going to be the film that achieves this, but this trailer gives me hope it can serve as a step in the right direction, and be a good film in its own right.

Thanks to Twilightish!
Perhaps it could be about “Breaking Dawn: Part 1″?
@joshuahorowitz:
Who says the VMAs are just about music? Just taped a big movies announcement we’re making tomorrow…..
Dear Ted:
The whole “It’s a shame that Robert Pattinson didn’t get the Jeff Buckley biopic gig” is bogus. I understand that you are practically required by law to shower R.Pattz with as much affection as you can, but seriously have you seen Reeve Carney sing? That’s like game, set, match to me. I’m reasonably certain that Carney (in addition to looking an awful lot like Buckley) can carry the movie well. After shouldering the debacle that has been Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, opening a movie should feel like a piece of cake.

Dear Buckley Blues:
I agreed that Reeve is très adorable and definitely looks the part. That doesn’t mean I can’t be bummed that Rob didn’t nab the role. He needs the perfect post-Twilight flick to keep his star burning, and I think this could have been it. Don’t fret tho, I’m sure he’ll land on his feet.

Robert Pattinson showed off his half-buzzed, half-floppy do while promoting “Breaking Dawn” — for his role in “Cosmopolis” — at Comic-Con in San Diego.

Thanks BellaandEdward.com for the pic!
We retweeted a warning on Twitter about this but since it has reached mainstream media, the problem is much larger than I thought! So, be vigilant Twi-hards!
Team Jacob or Team Edward?
If you’ve got an answer, then you’re a perfect target for a new “Twilight”-themed Facebook scam currently spreading around the massive, and massively exploitable, social network.
Detected by researchers from the security firm Trend Micro, this new scam promises free tickets to see “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2.”
Sounds great, right? Who wouldn’t want free tickets to a wildly anticipated movie?
There are two catches to this otherwise great offer. The first, of course, is that “Breaking Dawn, Part 2″ isn’t scheduled to hit big screens until Nov. 12, 2012, well after the Nov. 18, 2011 release of “Part 1.”
If that doesn’t raise a red flag, and you find yourself driven uncontrollably — like, say a vampire — to score these free movie tickets and see how the passionate relationship between Bella, Edward and Jacob ends — well, you’re out of luck.
Like past movie ticket scams that have preyed on Harry Potter fans, following this scam’s directions will redirect victims to a malicious survey that, once filled out, requests their phone number.
“As past scams have demonstrated, giving one’s phone number during one of these scams is a very bad idea and could result [in] the user being subscribed to premium-rate services,” the tech blog Softpedia wrote.
If you come across this, or any other suspicious-looking Facebook offers, ignore them, and never download any attachments, as they often harbor malicious software. For a list of social networking alternatives, click here.
