Robert Pattinson is ecstatic that his days filming The Twilight Saga are behind him,” reports Star magazine, explaining, “Now he can go back to enjoying his favorite indulgences: pizza and beer!”

A so-called source explains to the tabloid that having to be in shape for his Edward Cullen role was “pure torture” for the actor, who “hated working out and dieting.”

But according to Star, Pattinson didn’t even wait until filming wrapped on Breaking Dawn to start packing on pounds.

The magazine claims he ”ultimately lost the battle to keep himself in buff condition” and started “sneaking his favorite treats” well before shooting stopped.

“By the last week of the shoot, Rob had gained so much that they had to keep making the beach scenes darker and darker so you couldn’t see his beer belly,” alleges the Star source.

Wait a minute.

Many months after production ended, Star now wants us to believe that Pattinson was so heavy during filming, producers allegedly had to adjust for the weight gain?

Why was there no evidence or reporting about this when it was supposedly happening?

Maybe because it’s a totally bogus story Star is floating to fill the slow holiday week?

A production source tells Gossip Cop there was no sudden weight surge for Pattinson during Breaking Dawn, let alone anything drastic enough to necessitate a full-scale change in lighting.

Moreover, the notion that Pattinson is thrilled to be a slob now that he’s done playing Cullen makes no sense whatsoever, given that he’s continuing to make movies.

A source close to the actor tells Gossip Cop that while it’s no secret Pattinson isn’t a huge fan of working out, he’s not stuffing himself silly, as Star declares.

Warning, the source contains paparazzi pictures!

Robert Pattinson kissed his parents goodbye this morning as he left their London home. He’s on the go after a Christmas in England with mom Clare, dad Richard, and older sisters Lizzy and Victoria. Rob hopped into an SUV waiting outside his childhood house, first putting his instruments and luggage into the trunk.

It seems Rob took the holiday off from shaving — he debuted a big, bushy beard today! He’s fresh-faced and handsome, though, in the new trailer for Bel Ami. Rob filmed the movie back in 2010 between Twilight films. The picture, in which Robert stars opposite Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, and Kristin Scott Thomas, will debut in the US and the UK next March. That’s just one highlight to come for Robert in 2012. Robert will first wrap up this year, hopefully alongside girlfriend Kristen Stewart on New Year’s Eve. Their Dec. 31 celebrations may rank among Robert and Kristen’s cutest moments of 2011.

10. Beavis and Butt-Head Return as Twi-Hards, Kinda

My younger fandom of “Beavis and Butt-Head” rivals my current “Twilight” preoccupation. So, I was extremely excited for the show’s return to MTV with new episodes. And what subject does creator Mike Judge tackle with his first new episode in nearly 14 years? “Twilight.” My younger self just totally high-fived me. Sure, Beavis and Butt-Head think it “sucks,” but they think everything sucks. Their attempts at becoming werewolves to meet hot chicks is something I’ve pondered many times.

7. ‘Twilight’ at Comic-Con

I didn’t go to Comic-Con, and honestly, it’s still kind of painful for me to talk about missing it. However, I still need to include it on my list because it was a big deal for Twi-hards this year. I’m not going to pick my wound deeper. If you want to read about it, I already wrote a whole column on it.

6. Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards

“Eclipse” scored eight MTV Movie Award nominations and took home five of them. Film snobs can underplay the award all they want, but have to admit that’s an impressive score card for any awards show. Yet Robert Pattinson’s impromptu celebration of running into the audience — leaving Best Kiss cowinner Kristen Stewart awkwardly alone onstage — to make out with Taylor Lautner “eclipsed” everything else that night. Best. Best Kiss. Ever.

2. Sex Scene in ‘Breaking Dawn’

Whatever, call me a pervert, but you know you were pissed off when you finally got to a sex scene in “Breaking Dawn” and Stephenie Meyer glossed right over it. Director Bill Condon must have felt the same way, because there’s a great sex scene in the movie … followed by 60 minutes of the most painful on-screen pregnancy in history, but still.

@AmazedByRobsten shared a picture of a book she had purchased at the mall called “Robert Pattinson – for all Twilight Fans” on her Twitter. When we chatted about it, she offered to upload scans of the book, so here they are! You may remember seeing a previous post of these scans here, but we now have the full set:

‘Breaking Dawn Part 1′

Don’t get us wrong, Bella and Edward’s wedding is swooningly romantic, as is their Brazilian honeymoon. Except that the honeymoon sex leaves her battered and bruised and he feels so bad, he refuses to sleep with her again. And then the whole “this vampire baby is crushing me from the inside” thing happens. Lesson: If you’re going to marry a vampire, have him turn you before the wedding night.

The boy who sparkles. Edward Cullen, congratulations. With the end of Twilight in sight, he’s awoken the romantic in teen girls everywhere. And of course, he’s taking that longing with him in movies like Water for Elephants and the upcoming Bel Ami.

The final week of 2011 has arrived, meaning it’s time to reflect on the year that was. From the forgotten Nicolas Cage film ‘Season of the Witch’ that kicked things off in January to ‘The Iron Lady,’ which will close out December in limited release on Friday, 2011 was filled with cinematic delights (‘Harry Potter,’ ‘Bridesmaids’ and ‘Hugo’ to name three) as well as some notable busts (sorry, ‘Sucker Punch’). Ahead, a look at the best movies, performances, trailers and even dogs from 2011.

#50 The second-to-last installment of the record-breaking ‘Twilight’ franchise certainly ups the ante in terms of urgency. Edward, Bella and Jacob each grow exponentially in the movie, and we witness several rites of passage in under two hours: marriage, loss of virginity, the honeymoon, pregnancy, childbirth and (almost) death. Toss in some werewolf-on-vampire battle sequences and you’ve got yourself one dense film. — Chris Jancelewicz
