3. Though it wasn’t intentional, Kristen finally spilled that she was dating Rob while working on a photo shoot for British GQ. ”My boyfriend is English” is all she had to say even though it was pretty obvious to everyone that they had been a couple for a while.
OK! Magazine
First off, we’re sure to see a lot more of Kristen and her beau, Robert Pattinson, during the hype that will surround the opening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 on Nov. 16. The pair have been dating for over three years, so now that the Twilight films are coming to an end, K-Stew and Rob can focus less on Bella and Edward and more on their real-life romance. Do we see an engagement in their future? Let’s hope so!

Kristen Stewart turns 22 today, so it should come as no surprise that she spent her birthday weekend with boyfriend Robert Pattinson. The Twilight couple hit up Harvard & Stone on Saturday night, one of their favorite bars in the outskirts of Hollywood. Casually dressed as usual, the couple made a low key entrance and hung together inside.
If Harvard & Stone sounds familiar, it should…
The bar is owned by the same people as Pour Vous, the lounge Robert Pattinson, 25, was spotted at last week.

2. Kristen, Rob and Taylor Cement Their Place in H’wood: “I think this is the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life,” a Vans-clad Kristen exclaimed when she was honored with costars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautnerat their Walk of Fame hand and footprint ceremony outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywod. It’s quite the accomplishment for such a young star, but K.Stew is well deserving of her cemented T-town status. She’s been working in the Biz for over 10 years and has evolved from teen queen to A-list movie star. Perfection, indeed.

A witness tells E! News the birthday girl and her posse hit up L.A. hipster nightspot Harvard and Stone. “They were having lots of drinks on the top floor of the bar and seemed to be having fun,” the onlooker says of the Breaking Dawn duo.
So were Rob and Kristen dressed up for their night on the town?
Nah. “Kristen was wearing a black hoodie, black leather jacket and skinny jeans, while Rob sported an Adidas shirt and a full-grown beard,” the observer says. “No one seemed to notice they were there.”
The group was even treated to some special entertainment for the birthday celebrations. “The bar had a burlesque show which took place every 30 minutes and they were watching that,” the eyewitness adds.
Aside from the scantily clad entertainment, Rob and Kristen were laid-back, opting to chat with their friends rather than dance to the oldies music playing in the Prohibition era-style bar.
“Kristen seemed happy to just catch up with her girlfriends,” adds a witness. “She didn’t dance at all. Neither did Rob. But their friends were really enjoying the music.”
The Twilight couple didn’t get too affectionate in front of the other clubgoers, but they did walk out holding hands around 1:30 a.m.
If there are other mentions, we will be sure to share them with you!

I’ll admit, “Titanic” is one of my all-time favorite movies. When it first came out, I was that 13-year-old in the theater weeping as Jack Dawson sank into the watery abyss; I was that girl with ripped out magazine pics of Leo taped up all over my closet door. But even the “Titanic” twosome didn’t whip me into frenzy quite like “Twilight.”
Put it this way: I’ve been writing a “Twilight” fan column for three years now. So, I am happy to disagree with my colleague’s assertion that Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet (Jack and Rose) are a better pairing than Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (Edward and Bella).
Here are a few points as to why.
Instant Attraction
Rob and Kristen are both extremely beautiful creatures. From their first curious eye contact across the cafeteria in “Twilight,” it became clear that these two would become something special for Hollywood. Whereas Rose was busy turning up her nose at Jack on the lido deck and seeking an out from her opulent life, Bella and Edward’s curiosity about each other was piqued at the outset … though for very different reasons. Consequently, the world became as instantly enamored with Bella and Edward as they were with one another, and R.Pattz and K-Stew became A-listers with household names right away (and no one had to get naked on the couch for that to happen, either).
Screen Chemistry
Rob and Kristen have undeniable on-screen (and, so they say, off-screen) chemistry. Sure Leo and Kate played a cute — albeit ill-fated — couple, but they only had one movie’s worth of screentime to make gooey eyes at one another. When all is said and done, there’ll have been about 10 hours of supernatural seduction to speak of with the “Twilight” duo.
There’s also the hunk factor to consider here. “Titanic” was definitely made during Leo’s hunky heyday, but given R.Pattz’s soft English accent, touchable tresses and self-deprecating humor, he’s got it going on. And have you ever heard him sing? Oh, that’s right. Of course you have; Rob’s luscious vocals were featured twice on the “Twilight” soundtrack.

The Love Story
The romance of Bella and Edward is one for the ages. Not only is their passion for one another intense and all-consuming, but it also completely alters the meaning of forever. All I’m saying is immortal eternity lasts a lot longer than a boat ride across the Atlantic (especially when it crashes halfway).
Cultural Impact
There were only four “Twilight” books for source material, but the proven audience allure of Rob and Kristen as Edward and Bella convinced the studio to stretch the film series into five installments. Sure, “Titanic” has been re-mastered for 3-D, and it held the all-time gross title until “Avatar” came along, but the franchise potential for it went down with the ship. Leo and Kate tried to reconnect for 2008′s “Revolutionary Road,” but it wasn’t nearly as successful as their prior box-office pairing. Also, no one’s clamoring to make a “Titanic” fan-fiction movie, are they?
Fandemonium
Nothing, and I do mean nothing, compares to the fan fervor surrounding Rob, Kristen and the rest of the “Twilight” gang. It outpaces, out-screams, and out-devotes anything and everything else. The L.A. premieres nearly put Occupy Wall Street to shame, with fans lining up by the hundreds and camping out for days just to catch a glimpse of the cast all dolled up. No one stands a chance in a vote-off against Rob and Kristen, as proven time and time again in the MTV Movie Awards’ yearly “Best Kiss” race, and there’s a now-old adage that if either of them were to ever join Twitter, the social network would literally explode. It’s probably true. “Twilight,” simply put, has defined fandemonium.
Conclusion
Leo and Kate as Jack and Rose will always hold a special place as that sappy, tragic couple, but Rob and Kristen as Edward and Bella stand alone as the eternal romance. Seriously. How do you beat that?

With The Hunger Games sucking up box-office millions as much as attention, there’s been little room left for the competition.
Does that include Twilight, too?
The unprecedented success of The Hunger Games can’t really take a bite out of the vampire franchise—er, can it?

That would be a no.
“One franchise heating up isn’t necessarily going to affect another franchise,” says Wade Holden, an analyst for the research firm SNL Kagan.
Indeed, since its online debut on Monday, the trailer for the (incorrectly?) presumed final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn—Part 2, quickly has racked up 7 million-plus views on its official YouTube channel. (The clip has been receiving no small amount of exposure in theaters, too, where it’s shown before screenings of The Hunger Games.)
Breaking Dawn—Part 2 is scheduled to open Nov. 16. Its studio, which, following a merger, is also The Hunger Games‘ studio, expects the film to gross $700 million worldwide. That number would be on par with the franchise’s two biggest movies, New Moon and Breaking Dawn—Part 1.
In the case of Harry Potter, the series’ final film, Deathly Hallows: Part 2, ended up being its biggest.
Holden sees nothing that would rule out Breaking Dawn—Part 2 from taking the same path. Not even a certain red-hot dystopian drama.
“The good thing about movies is you can be a fan of different franchises,” Holden says. “You don’t have to get tired of any of them.”

Thank you @CalliopeBlabs for sharing!
At the Harry Potter Studio Tours press conference, the popularity of The Hunger Games inevitably came up. Speaking to producers David Heyman and David Barron, Hypable found out what they think about movies trying to replicate Potter‘s success!
Later in the interview, Heyman went on to compare Harry Potter to both Twilight and The Hunger Games, and had some interesting things to say:
I don’t think that Twilight is the next Harry Potter, it’s completely different. Yes, it’s aimed for people under 20 primarily, but it’s much more… Harry Potter has an innocence. It’s about a school. And then you look at The Hunger Games, which is again completely different. There is no relation to Harry Potter. The term ‘fantasy’ possibly, but one of the reasons I was able to relate to Potter was that I never thought of it as fantasy. It was reality. It was a bit off-kilter, but it was really grounded in reality: a school, friendship, loyalty, betrayal.

LOS ANGELES – Both franchises sport love triangles, lethal teens and heroines accustomed to the sight of human blood.
But don’t confuse a Twi-hard with a Hunger-ling.
In the wake of The Hunger Games’ monster debut this weekend, fans of that series and TheTwilightSaga franchise have taken to the Web to defend their young-adult titles of choice.
Sites issued columns and polls this week comparing the story lines, stars and box-office potential (most surveys favored Hunger Games, though analysts say that’s because the last Twilight film was in November, a teen lifetime ago).
Lionsgate Entertainment, meanwhile, which owns both properties, is happy to watch the skirmish and says there’s no need for the fuss (particularly when both parties pay so well: Hunger Games opened to $152.5 million this weekend, the third-largest debut on record). The first Twilight film opened to $69.6 million in 2008.
“Everyone wanted to put (Hunger Games) into the Twilight box,” says Tim Phelan, Lionsgate’s chief marketing officer. “It’s easy to put it in that box because of three young main leads (in both movies). But they’re completely different stories with different appeals.”
And they draw different, though powerful, demographics. Twi-hards tend to run younger than Hunger-lings, analysts and studio executives say. According to exit surveys by Lionsgate, 56% of Hunger Games’ moviegoers were 25 and older, about the opposite of Twilight’s film fan base.
Women rule both series. The studio found that about 80% of Twilight’s moviegoers are women. This weekend, women made up 61% of Hunger Games moviegoers. Hunger Games had a bigger debut than any Twilight film — 2009′s New Moon marks Twilight’s biggest opener at $142.8 million. Yet Twilight is the ninth-largest franchise, with $2.5 billion worldwide from four films.
The titles will have another chance to invite comparisons: Twilight’s final installment, Breaking Dawn — Part 2, arrives Nov. 16. The second Hunger Games story, Catching Fire, hits screens Nov. 22, 2013.
Fans already are measuring the opponents. Movieline.com ran a seven-point scorecard, weighing everything from the stories’ love triangles to themes to PG-13 action. The site gave Hunger Games the nod in five of the seven categories.
“The Hunger Games has a wider appeal,” says Jen Yamato, who wrote Movieline’s tale of the tape. “It’s more sci-fi/fantasy, while Twilight is a supernatural romance. So more guys are going to see Hunger. Of course … we’re still talking millions of fans on both sides.”
And those sides should see similarities more than differences, says Fordham University’s student-run blog, LC Radar. Author Lauren DeLucca says she is “calling for a world” in which the franchises “can coexist in harmony without one having to be a rip-off of the other.”
Alison Genet, a self-professed Twi-hard who runs the Twilight site Twifans.com and Hunger Games’ Citizensofpanem.com, says peace is nearly at hand.
“In the long run, people will see how different they are,” says Genet, who lives in Santa Barbara, Calif. Twilight “is a love story, the other is a hero’s story. It’s good fans have a choice.”
