With the “Breaking Dawn Part 1″ soundtrack track list released today, The Twilight Lexicon wants to hear from you! What do they want to know?
Which soundtrack is your favorite? Which is your least favorite?
Which song is your favorite? Which is your least favorite?
Which song (if you had to pick one) would you consider to me the Twilight anthem? In other words, the song that best represents the franchise to most fans?
Is there a band/artist you feel has to be present on every soundtrack, if so why?
Have the Twilight soundtracks turned you into a fan of a particular group/artist that you weren’t that familiar with ahead of time?
Which is the best song on each of the movie soundtrack?
Head on over to the Twilight Lexicon and leave your comments/answers!
Looking back on the way that the three Twilight series soundtracks have been composed, marketed, and revealed, there is certainly a trend.
With Twilight’s soundtrack, artists like Paramore and Robert Pattinson contributed exclusive songs for the album, and they themselves became a part of the process – doing interviews, promotions, and the like.
Do you think it is possible that the reason why Twilight’s soundtrack success so vastly outweighs the recent two (which were also successful, for sure) is because so many new fans came in and saw the film before purchasing the album – thusly getting that association concept mentioned by Patsavas? Or do you think that it is because it had two songs sung by Robert Pattinson, who has been chosen the “World’s Sexiest Man” for two years running? Hint hint (Breaking Dawn can circle back on this, cough cough).

Yet it’s important to note that with the first two films, album sales and box-office numbers had an inverse relationship. The “Twilight” disc boasts 2.6 million in total sales and “New Moon” ultimately moved 1.1 million discs, while “New Moon” out-grossed its predecessor by $104 million. Further explaining the disparity in album sales is that, unlike the first soundtrack, the “New Moon” disc didn’t boast a tune by star Robert Pattinson on its track listing (nor does the “Eclipse” album). Of course, RPattz’s smoldering mug is all over the films. The point is, while there is a relationship between album and ticket sales, the two do not move in lockstep.
The “Twilight” series earned another platinum soundtrack with the release of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” soundtrack. A few days before the release of the film on DVD and Blu-ray, a new “New Moon” soundtrack companion is set to be released.
According to Tommy2.net, the new soundtrack companion expands on the original version of the soundtrack but is not included. Composed of bonus tracks from both the iTunes edition and international editions, the new 9-track disc features:
1. Lupe Fiasco – Solar Midnite
2. The Magic Numbers – All I Believe In
3. APM Orchestra – Die Fledermaus – Duettino: Ach, ich darf nicht hin zu dir
4. Eskimo Joe – Thunderclap
5. BB Brunes – Cavalier Noir
6. No Way Out – Sed
7. Ximena Sarinana – Frente Al Mar
8. Jennifer Rostock – Es tut wieder weh
9. Anya Marina – Satellite Heart [Air Mail Remix]
All originally available on the deluxe iTunes edition.
The DVD also includes interviews and music videos from Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina, Lupe Fiasco, and Hurrican Bells. The original soundtrack also featured music from Muse, Thom Yorke, and The Killers.

The second volume of the “Twilight Saga” New Moon” soundtrack hits stores March 16th.
Any year that features films from music-oriented directors Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino is going to be a good year for soundtracks. Many of the films’ soundtracks this year were highly anticipated, with indie rock star power attached early on to films like The Twilight Saga: New Moon (Thom Yorke, Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver)
10. The Twilight Saga: New Moon
New Moon makes this list almost purely because of the inclusion of new material from the likes of Grizzly Bear (“Slow Life”), Thom Yorke (“Hearing Damage”), and pairing Bon Iver with St. Vincent (“Roslyn”). Whether it’s the best music for Taylor Lautner to remove his shirt to is probably up for debate.

I received the following message from Atlantic Records today:
Due to overwhelming and unprecedented demand, Chop Shop/Atlantic Records have announced a new release date for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK. By far the most anticipated soundtrack of the year, the compilation will now be released this Friday, October 16th, four days earlier than originally scheduled! If you have pre-ordered the album, you can expect it to arrive on that date or shortly afterwards.
In addition, we would like to exclusively announce that in the physical CDs, the booklet folds out into a poster! The image is below. Make sure to head out on Friday to get your copy of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON Soundtrack!

The cover art for The Twilight Saga: New Moon: The Score has just been seen on Amazon, the place which you found out in September was pre-selling the album (to be released on November 24th).
As you know, the score is being composed by Alexandre Desplat – recent recipient of a Hollywood Award.
Twilight’s score was composed by Carter Burwell, whose music will still be a part of The Twilight Saga: New Moon as well.
Desplat’s piece, “The Meadow,” is also going to be appearing on the official soundtrack for the film, and a few seconds of that song were previewed on the UK’s Amazon page.
The response to that particularly piece was overwhelmingly positive, so it seems inevitable that the New Moon score will be captivating as well.
